Do you honestly think you have come up with the definitive way to cook brown rice?? There are probably HUNDREDS of ways to cook brown rice. I notice that you have completely ignored chicken stock in place of water. What, just because YOU are a vegan you think the rest of us should avoid the juice of chickens????

Steve, please immediately change the title of this post to "The Non-Definitive Way To Cook Vegan Brown Rice," or we'll send Renie after you. Renie with chicken stock even (that's the Renie Model 408,) the scariest breed of Renie on today's market. Last edited by Dan.Linehan; 03-14-2007 at 08:22 PM.

Recent blog entries had me confused, but this one finally put it all together! And in such a clever fashion too. The trick to polarizing into a darkworker (or to use Steve's analogy, becoming well-cooked brown rice), then, is to "set the heat to maximum" (i.e., commit all inner resources in that direction). I totally understand now, and I see why this would work for both brown rice (i.e., darkworkers) and white rice (lightworkers). This new understanding will surely let me "eat and enjoy," or manifest and enjoy my life's goals... |

Brown rice isn't necessarily for darkworkers. It could very well be for lightworkers. It just depends on what the rice will be used for. On a more serious note, obviously Steve finally cracked and couldn't resist writing a sarcastic "practical" post in response to all the people bitching that the recent posts are "unpractical". I guess we can expect "How to tie your shoelaces" and "Benefits of Deoderant" coming soon as well. This leads me to a question for Steve. Steve, have you considered the possibility that it might be better for you not to read the feedback in the forums about your posts and instead to just keep moving forward and writing what you are discovering in your life? I mean, personally I really don't get the polarization thing, but whatever, it just could be something I'm not interested in, but if you think it's important it might be better for you to write the article and to keep doing stuff with polarization until it leads you to the next realization and then write articles about that and on and on. If, in between, you're checking the forums to see if people are "getting" what you're saying, it might be slowing you down and altering your perspective on whether you think you're providing value to your readers or not. Do you get discouraged when you write stuff and then it seems like nobody "gets it" but you? I'm just wondering, because before you launched the forums it seemed like you were running forward at a super fast pace and you didn't give a crap what people thought, basically just ignoring them and moving forward. Now that the forums are here, you might be getting slowed down by all of us here. Or am I wrong? Does our confusion fuel your idea bank on what to write next? |

Stock-ist. Ya'll get that it was a joke, right? I was kidding. I figured the brown rice post was Steve's way of being snide. "Well, if you find my highly esoteric post about light and dark workers too POLARIZING for you, then EAT RICE!!"

ok, this may be a very basic question...but do u get something like veggie stock in the market...just like chicken stock? i put a lot of veggies so never had to bother about looking for a stock. on another note, as long as one has polarized intentions, no matter light or dark, brown rice cooked in both cases will be taste great! |

You can get vegetable stock at health food stores. I don't know about mainstream stores. As to why Steve wrote that post... it could be because they were discussing brown rice in another thread. It could be because he wanted to write something more practical in response to the heaviness of the polarization articles, or it could be because brown rice and Steve go hand in hand and he wanted to let you in on his little secret. For the record, I dislike brown rice for the most part. So Steve gets to eat his tub of brown rice all week long without fear that I shall swoop in and devour it. And that may be why he likes it so much... |

I tried cooking brown rice but it doesn't work. This whole brown rice thing is wishful thinking. If it was real, everyone would be doing it. And don't give me this thing that I have to believe that it's possible to cook brown rice for it to work. That wouldn't make sense, since nobody would have ever cooked brown rice if that was a requirement. I saw the shows on Oprah about cooking brown rice and the shows on Larry King Live and I still don't believe in it at all. It's all just wishful thinking. There's just no way to cook brown rice. Also, I saw Joe Vitale say that it's possible to cook 25 pots full of brown rice if that's what you want. What a pice of crap that is! 25 pots of brown rice, yeah right, like it's that easy. |

Man people really need to stop dissing on Steve. I think some people are sour about the fact that he makes a lot of money off of his blog, and so they expect miraculous content with every new update. You have to realize that the only reason he makes money is that people read it-and they love it. It's entirely your option to read his stuff, and post on his forums, so please lets treat him and other members with more respect. Erock |

This is one of the most hilarious threads on this forum! whoever thought that a clique of brown rice lovers would make a multimillion dollar movie on various ways to cook it? I think brown rice is healthier than white. |

Let's all make a DVD called "THE SECRET" and then in small letters underneath it will say "of cooking brown rice". Everyone on these forums can be interviewed on the DVD talking about cooking brown rice, and the Law of Cooking Brown Rice, and the quantum physics of it, and how thinking about cooking brown rice helps to make it fluffy instead of clumpy etc. We can do advanced stuff like using a fork to froth it up and review different rice cookers as well. Who's in?

That is the way I was taught to make brown rice when I worked in a resteraunt that specialized in organic and vegetarian cuisine. It is the best way that I know of to make it. Perhaps, a teaspoonful of vegetable boullion added to the water while its boiling if you want it. Last edited by Tom Allen; 03-15-2007 at 07:17 AM. |

I wonder what has had a greater effect on Steve's life: Law of Attraction or brown rice? If Steve hadn't started eating brown rice, would he still have started his personal development blog? Thank you universe, for brown rice! |

Oh the things we discuss at dinner. We thought it would be interesting one day to do a podcast of one of our regular daily conversations. It might go something like this. Steve: Erin, I've got a new insight. Let me share it with you. Erin: Let me put my seatbelt on first. Steve: I've been pondering this for about 6 months and I've worked it all the way through. I can't wait to share it with everyone. Erin: Is this going to involve a new experiment? Will I be sleeping alone in the bed again? Or will you be eating upside down? Steve: No, but hey, that sounds interesting, I'll have to try that next. Erin: (rolls eyes) Okay, I'm ready. Whatcha got? Steve: Well... |
