So I am trying to find other writings on subjective reality, but the problem is that most of the writing on it treats subjective reality from an objective, scientific perspective. "There's this perspective called subjective reality somewhere over THERE, but you and me, we're over here, so I'm gonna talk to you as if you exist primarily in the objective world. And I want you to know that I do, too, so you don't have to worry that I'm a nutcase!"

This probably has very little to do with it. But I love this book so I'm post this anyway.

Angelique, that's one of my favorite books EVAR. Thanks for reminding me of it!

Cochonette, have you gotten around to the Busting Loose books yet? They are very "over here."

Mine too! When I was younger the perspective chapter completely dazzled me.

Oddly, yes . . . even though saying such a thing in a chat room turned the place into a list of "Me too!"s faster than AOL.

Holographic Universe This is written from an objective viewpoint, but it's a very enjoyable read.

Things can certainly change in 18 months

lol. :P

I have a question about this dream thing... how do I know the difference between the Dreamer and my dream avatar??? 'cause my avatar is me, but so are others' avatars, yet they are distinct when we talk about them... that avatar vs this avatar... this character vs. that character.

To know the answer to that question is to know the nature of Source.

Pretty cool, huh?

For me, understanding that is amazing on some levels and terrifying on others. Needless to say, I am still working on this question (and may be for a while )! Who is the Dreamer and what is their character? I know in the abstract that it is the Oneness aka Source, but I don't really know on a gut level who or what that is.

I talked to a Buddhist monk about this the other day, and he suggested to meditate on the question, "Who meditates?" Smart man.

Thus far, I do understand on a gut level that our dream avatars are tiny expressions of the vast Dreamer also known as Source or Oneness. So our races/genders/habits/communication styles/roles we play in life are ultimately not You or Me but simply dream avatars. That's precisely where Steve is at right now -- all this talk about "figments of my imagination" is about that. I predict it won't be long until he starts asking, "well, whose figments really are they, if I'm in the dream, too?"

It's a really freaky experience from my point of view.

OK, maybe closer to 20 minutes ago. Someone was posting on an SR thread in Facebook that Steve Pavlina started. The poster said that "Only love is real." And then it all hit me! I'm so excited that I must share this here:

We are the dream of the Ultimate Intelligence!

Huh? I didn't say "Snicker Snack" in that post you linked. Is that a joke I am not getting? I'm very confused here.

Perhaps my post was as confusing as Jabberwocky to some

I took "Snicker Snack" to be another way of saying <snip>.

Is that what the kids are calling it these days? OK.

Anyway, what confirms it for me is that I picked up Steve's book and asked what I needed to know from it. I opened it, and it had opened to the chapter on Intelligence. The qualities of Intelligence according to Steve are the following:
  • authenticity
  • creative self-expression
  • growth
  • flow
  • beauty

Perhaps Steve says this in the chapter somewhere and I didn't notice it. But when I read the list this time, I noticed for the first time that those qualities weren't just the qualities of a person living an intelligent life, but those are the qualities of Life itself -- the Intelligence that is Life.

Isn't that awesome?

Conversely, denying Intelligence is death. (I'm sure I will get a lot of flak for saying that.)
