Of course this is scary. You are letting go of controlling your life hour by hour, minute by minute and you are shifting to "trusting" the universe as you go. Furthermore, if you are a person that has always longed for control then this should be one of the scariest things you will ever do.

Trust and Be Led

The thing that surprised me was that you wake up to an alarm clock! You do??!!?? That is one of the easiest things to master. I wake about the same time everyday: 5.25 to 5.35'ish with no alarm clock, regardless of what time I go to sleep. I've conditioned my body that that is its wake up time.

But yeah, I'm also mostly a go with the flow kind of person. Being very scheduled makes me feel totally smothered.

However, when I used to scheduled, I used to get more done. I used to put everything in my planner, including when to eat a snack, spend time with my child etc.

Me, too -- if I set an alarm, or if LOL-man does, I consistently wake up a couple of minutes before the alarm goes off, in a ready-state, alert to turn off the clock. I don't think my body enjoys alarm clocks and goes into high defense against them.

I wouldn't mind trying one of those clock-lights that brighten gradually like the dawn, or an automated curtain-opener.

I constantly turn off my alarm clock unconsciously and/or I don't remember turning it off.

I feel.... weird. O so weird.

First off, just before reading this article of Steve and this other one, i was thinking of starting a thread about how my father-in-law annoys me beyond believe and how he thinks saying things like "I just had a heart attack, so do you have some antibiotica left" are funny....

And now... I'm responsible for him, simply because of the fact that he is in my life. Heal myself and heal this part of me.

I feel weird. The world doesn't look real anymore. And yet it does. Life is weird.

Looking forward to what is going to happen next (although admittedly a bit scared as well).
Yup that was part of what made me feel like I am living a dream world.
After reading the story, I was like "So my whining sister is a part of me that I created???" No Way, get outtta here...

Then I began pondering over it. Before going to sleep last night I made a mental list of all the people who I think have wronged me and I said to each and every one of them "I am sorry, I love you."

For some people it was extremely difficult but I managed it. I slept very peacefully. I am going to continue this and see what happens.

After I had done this, my left brain began to think about it. And I thought of something. If a certain person has wronged you and you have feelings of hurt/revenge/anger/rage about that person, what does it do to your brain where that person is staying? It will make connections of those emotions to that person. And whenever you will think about that person, those connections will be activated and you will again feel those emotions.
As as we all know negative feelings have so many downsides.

So what we are doing here is changing the wiring and make connections to happy/peaceful emotions. Better for everyone. Of course thats just the left brain. And my left brain is still learning how to handle SR.

what an interesting 30 day trial! It is really brave of you to share so openly how you feel about this, I find going into subjective reality too much or time-philosophy quite scary too, like I am reaching the boundaries of what my mind can understand. But at the same time it is so liberating that I am always drawn back whenever I get caught up in objective reality for a little while. But it is probably good to polarize more, or at least interesting.

Could you change your view on this? And decide not to find it scary?

Good luck

What's so interesting about this for me is within the past couple of weeks:
  • I've had an extremely difficult time getting going on a few projects and have somewhat casually (which makes this whole thing even more weird) wondered why.
  • I've never been able to do any of the productivity/GTD stuff (or anything really) in a disciplined way. Sometimes this really can upset me, as if something is wrong with me.
  • I'm a Hay House Wisdom Club member, and my yearly membership just renewed itself. They sent me Wayne Dyer's "The Secrets of an Inspirational (In-Spirit) Life" audio set as a free gift - it just showed up one day. It was like whoa - I took notice of this!
  • The other day, I was scanning Twitter (which I use VERY little) and someone not related to personal development posted an article about living without concrete goals and plans.
  • Then that same night I read Steve's latest posts which deal with these very topics.

I'm pretty surprised and amused by all this, and I'm definitely coming along for the ride.

Well said Rosine !

Let me try again, Universal Traveller. A great guy from canada riffing on inspiration. He talks about time too. It really is all about time.

Reading some of the replies (only the ones i'm inspired to of course), they are polarized. Some of them (the minority) are delivered by people who are on the journey, like you Steve.

It is the most frightening time of your life. To let go of the wheel, and let "your" universe take control is the beginning.

I will gently persuade you to not give up, no matter how tempting that may be. The journey is the point but, the end is well worth the tribulation.
