I was just listening to Eban Pagen in some of his YouTube Videos....and he was explaining the similarity between very successful brand names... m&ms coca cola marilyn monroe They all have repeating sounds in them that are psychologically pleasant to listen to and impossible to forget. Which is why he used the "fake" name of "David DeAngelo" for one of this businesses...and also called it "double your dating" Then I thought Steve Pavlina.....it has repeating sounds too! "eee ah eee ah" And apparently repeating sounds like this are very attractive to our brains and very hard to forget I also thought....Tila Tequila.....omg she has this too! So it's a good thing I guess that I called my website "SociallyPositive" It has similar repeating sounds in it I guess.... but the name of my youtube channel "nosocialanxiety" is not so good, damn! But my nickname here is good! "RoxyRuby" |

Having a catchy name helps marketing. There are many other things that can help or hurt though, and no one thing is ever the end-all be-all of success.

Heck, look at the sales page for the third CGW. Steve gave it to a copywriter, so it isn't even true that Steve doesn't spend anything on marketing anymore.

Eben Pagan, for instance, has doubleyourdating.com and catchhimandkeephim.com. Surely, the domain name says nothing to someone who's here for the first time, but, of course, Steve's content rocks.

I believe that one of the reasons Steve is successful is because he does what he is naturally good at - at identifying patterns. Steve is at the core an INTJ personality which makes him good at this sort of thing. His cognitive hardware is optimized for taking in large quantities of data and instantly identifying patterns within that data that nobody else can see. The problem with most people is that they have no clue on how to use their hardware properly so they are stuck doing the kind of work that does not make full use of their natural abilities. Kind of like using playstation 3 to play pacman ;-) |

I advise you to change your youtube channel name. And I like Athena Marina very much as well.

I think you make a good point and it could very well be true but be careful not to fall into the trap of just looking for evidence to support your theory and not looking for any that doesn't |

A name like his certainly helps, but it is not a prerequisite for success. I'm sure it helps his branding, but does little else. He is successful from all his hard work and knowledge, not to mention his brutal honesty about his life and his experiences. He is someone who just has an "it" factor that anyone with half a brain can discern from his writing style and depth of thought on a wide variety of topics. His name does have a nice ring to it, though. |
