Request for next blog article! Hi Steve, I can't keep up with reading all the posts! Any strategies you can think of to get the most reading / quality information out of the 15-25 minutes a day I have to work on this forum? Thanks! If anyone else has any strategies, that would be helpful too :) |
Well, I could not find anything better than Steve's suggestion at the home page where he says : Quote:

Base your strategy on if you want to read or discuss Here's my little hack. If I feel like engaging in a conversation, I pick a post that has a small number of replies and then leave a comment of my own. If I feel like just reading I pick a post that already has a lot of comments. I figure with those posts, most of the main points have probably been covered. |
Try using some skiming techniques. Steve does a nice job when he writes his posts, using a clear structure and nice formating. Then, you can get a clear idea of the content of a post by following this procedure: 1) Read the title, section titles, and keywords in bold face. 2) Read the first and last paragraphs. 3) If the material serves you, go ahead and read the whole article (or print it for later reading). This way you can select which articles to read in 5 minutes or less. Pato |
