Specific is one way to order. You can even be all Sally about it ("Waiter, I'll begin with a house salad, but I don't want the regular dressing. I'll have the balsamic vinegar and oil, but on the side. And then the salmon with the mustard sauce, but I want the mustard sauce on the side.") Another way to order is to trust the establishment that you're ordering in, and ask them to bring you The Daily Special -- that is, ask the chef to bring you a wonderful tasting surprise that will benefit you most. This works best if you are a regular. And you may want to watch out for the exasperated patron at the corner table next to a geeky, vegan, bisexual dining companion, the guy brandishing a water pistol. |

I'm sure some level of compassion will be restored in about 4-5 more days. My waiter is a bit slow tonight for some reason. | |

Steve, what are your religious beliefs? I haven't seen you mention 'god' anywhere in your posts so I think you don't believe in a god, but with the intention manifestation model it seems like you do believe in a higher power of some sort, so that means you're a pantheist? |

Steve, thank you for finally talking to me like an idiot. Go on, shoot me in the eye with the water pistol, too (just water, please!). Your article is exactly how I needed it broken down for me. This goes along nicely with a dash of synchronicity (I watched a DVD of The Secret last night) and a couple of other experiences today, and so I feel like I am about to do some MAJOR ordering from the grown-ups menu at the Universal Restaurant. Sounds promising! |

I see the point but I also like Dooley's take on it - the Universe knows better than you do what you want and will bring it if you don't get bogged down in the how's and specifics. How is $50,000 going to do anything for me? It's not the paper and ink its what I'm going to with the money - travel or whatever - that is going to make me happy. And its the happiness that's the real goal. So, if I say I want to write a book that's going to make me $50,000 the first year so I can take a cool trip to Europe I am placing limits on the Universe. What I want is the international travel so I should ask for that rather than ask for the stuff that I think is the best way to get there. Admittedly, that's basically what the post says. Splitting hairs I guess. I didn't get the cool gig I have now by asking specifically for it, I got it by just trusting/expecting that everything would work out. It did and better than I'd hoped for. In any case, great post. Thanks for it. |

NO SOUP FOR YOU! Love the Seinfeld and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy references This was an excellent post. The analogy works super well. I'm going to order a brand new speedboat with red trim and I'll also have the $50k special with a side of tax free acquisition. And I'd like you to keep refilling my order of being an incredibly creative, talented and prolific artist. There's a tip in it for you if you get my orders right, Universe |

*Laughs* So thanks to this post I went back to a message I wrote to the Universe, back in August, and what "I would like." I realised how timid it was, and reworded it, and I intend on seeing an awesome counselor next week. So, that's fixed up. Ordering's fun, though. Maybe I'll go order some more stuff! |

Excellent. Guess we need to be reminded of the ordering procedure from time to time. Perhaps, it's the way we have been brought up, that makes us forget. and we always get caught up in the why's and how's and when's. I have found this many times that it works best when I forget about how it's going to happen, and simply order. Seinfeld and HHGTTG rock. one mulligatawny to go. |

Thanks again for your hard work SP! Actually maybe thats part of how I lost weight, I had a thread on here called "weighing 55kg journal" so it was always really clear what the goal was Now I have a journal sort of thing called "weighing 50kg journal" And also have one about achieving a income amount. I think I haven't been clear enough for the financial goal. Like my goal amount would always change. But like my weight loss goal, I'll just stick to something small and seemingly reachable now, and stick with it, that one clear goal, and then when I reach it I can increase the income amount. |
