Hi, sorry to bother everyone with this question, since it's probably been answered before. I've already looked in the FAQs and couldn't find the answer. I would have emailed Steve directly, but he advised against it due to the number of emails he receives. So, my question is how can i save Steve's podcasts onto itunes? I searched the music store - nothing. Clicked on the "subscribe to podcasts via RSS" link - can't begin to understand all that computer jargon, and it only listed podcasts 9-18 anyway. I really love his podcast on overcoming fear and the true nature of reality, and I'd love to be able to have those on my ipod. Could someone please tell me how to do this? |

You're using iTunes to store stuff on your iPod. Baaaad boy. I'm using Winamp with the ml_ipod.dll. Supports all iPods as far as I know. Just install the plugin (google it), restart winamp. Go to your media library, add your music (in this case, the podcasts) to it, and drag them onto your iPod under Devices. This is assuming your also using winamp. Great program. iTunes for the lose in my opinion... |

If you want to keep using iTunes, you will have to download Steve's podcasts from his Blog (use the down arrow to the right of the podcast in the MP3 player) and then import them into iTunes. The import function is under the 'File' menu, at least it is in iTunes 7 under OS X. I found out the hard way that iTunes does not support 'drag & drop', which is surprising since Apple popularized that method of file manipulation oh so many years ago.

| You do it as with any other mp3s - actually you don't save them onto itunes but import into itunes library. First download the podcasts as mp3 files from Steve's site and then use the import function in itunes to add them to your library. What also worked for me was creating a playlist in itunes with mp3s without adding them to the library - then I could drag&drop the playlist onto the ipod. But... I agree with SmellyOrc... I don't like itunes and got rid of it as soon as I found other lighter, smaller and easier tools to do the same job, for example iShuffe for ipod shuffle, but there are many other programs for other ipods. |
