This is for anyone who is seriously considering buying an SBI subscription. I purchased two SBI subscriptions during a buy one get a second one for $100 promotion in March of 2008 based on Steve’s recommendation and article. I can report that SBI, Site Sell, and Ken Evoy (the Site Sell owner) are everything and more that Steve says they are. I am extremely pleased and continually amazed by this service. And I am not easily impressed. I WAS one of those people that Steve has talked about who tried and failed several times to build a successful website. After I purchased my SBI subscriptions, I saw more traffic in the first few months than I did during all of my prior attempts put together! A large part of my turnaround is due to SBI’s outstanding video education. It’s like an MBA program in that it’s challenging, thorough, and a lot of hard work. But it is definitely worth the time and money. I love SBI and I wholeheartedly concur with Steve’s recommendation. |

| Nope, only the first year for the second subscription is free. If you use their system, it's not that hard to be generating income with the site before you have to pay the renewal. Of course if only one site is making you the most money by then, you don't have to renew the second subscription.

I can vouch for this. I nearly half-assed my way to making my acupuncture website, haven't done almost any link-building for it, have stopped making new content for it, and it STILL is already making enough $/month on average to pay for the $300/year price tag. If you go through the entire Action Guide (which is a bit tedious, but necessary), then put 1-2 hours per day into your website, it is a *guaranteed* success. I stopped working on my site months ago and it is still increasing in visitor numbers - which really says something about SBI.

I read a forum post where Ken (creator of SBI) said he had heard previous stories of SBI buyers selling their free SBI on ebay. He said that it is fine to sell a free year of SBI to someone, however, he would appreciate that you don't sell it to someone who is already using SBI, since the point of the special is to spread "virally" and get more subscribers.

Steve, I've been thinking about sending you a note - to thank you - finally have some time. My first post on your forum too. Last year this time I had been meeting with programmers and web developers. I had a plan to move my 5 year professional consulting business, online. The costs and development time were do-able - but didn't 'feel' right. (@ $10,000 and 3 months...) I sat on all of the proposals...put it all out of my mind for bit, and took time off for Christmas vacation. We were in Indiana a day before Christmas, I was freezing wrapped in a blanket with my laptop, sitting on my in-laws' couch. (I'm from the South - it freezing - 20 below windchill!) Somehow your SBI newsletter/ announcement landed in my in-box. I don't even know how I was receiving it. At the time, I don't think I even knew who you were... I read your detailed review of SBI and time stood still. (I know that sounds dramatic - but what I wanted to create was/is my passion and life purpose - so when I say time stood still - it seems truly as tho' it did.) I didn't really understand much of what you were sharing... My consulting work was in the professional development realm - I'm all about people and I knew nothing about technology and the web, other than being a good end user and knowing that it was an important part of my future business...) ...but I felt the resonance. Barely slept that night. The possibilities of what SBI offered was everything I needed to move my business into the direction I envisioned. And there it was -from you - for nothing!! ($300 for two sites - how is that possible?) The only thing that stopped me for a second is that it sounded too good to be true. So now 1 year later -
So, I know I've been wordy here - but I wanted you to know how much this service has impacted my life and my world. Without it I would have found some way to build my dream - but it would have been more expensive, taken more time and not near as fun. So bless you! You are a dear person for many reasons:

...in looking at the information a second time as per your review I noticed that the "Site Build It" sample site (indicated in the Walkthrough blog post) (Anguilla-Beaches) was done by the daughter of SBI creator, Ken Evoy. --- Don't get me wrong, SBI totally looks like a solid service as there are countless other sample sites to view and check out, I just found this surprising, perhaps giving the perception that she may have had a slight advantage over us "average joes" in terms of built-in assistance to get her site 'off the ground'...! Am curious about any comments anyone would have... Thanks! Still considering it though as I value your honesty about yourself in your "About" section! (P.S. In "About" it says "Steve is single...") |

Hey there... I'm an SBI user for a year now... See my post earlier in this thread... for more of the details. I can;t say enough good about the tools, the company and how it's helping me realize my dream and future... Having said that - you do have a good point... his daughter did/does have an advantage - she can go to dad for all sorts of extra help. Check out the results page here: Site Build It! Results It is a list of sites from all over, by regular joe's and josie's who are in the top 1-3% of all websites - in traffic and popularity. SBI is just something you have to experience to appreciate... the tools and resources and integrity and support are amazing. One way I got over my skepticism initially was their return policy - can't remember now what it is... but was strong enough that I thought - well if I don't like it I will get my money back. Of course now I would never ask for my money back - SBI is the backbone of my online business. A friend started her blog the same time I started SBI - my traffic and Alexa rating is 25 better times where she is now... she's a great writer and person - but the difference is all the stuff SBI provides. If you do decide to join - be sure the go through Steve's affiliate link - he share's so much and making sure he receives $$ commissions would be an easy gift to share with him... If you have specific questions - I'd be happy to try and answer them here if you want... just let me know. All the Best, and More! Suzie |

I've been thinking about getting an SBI for my practice (acupuncture) combined with a self-help (from a chinese medicine POV) blog for a while. I utterly trust Steve's judgement -- the other products I've gotten on his recommendation have turned out great. (I adore the Paraliminals, seriously. They're amazing. I <3 Learning Strategies now.) I think the recession special sounds perfect. I even got an unexpected $300 paycheck today (sychronicity much?). And I went to the site and started looking around and.... I'm getting stuck on the sales-y-ness of it. Too much hard-sell just comes across as a bit skeezy to me. OTOH, I've had it pointed out to me that my sensors are slightly off this week (I know why, & thank goodness it's temporary), that I'm a little extra reactive in general. (My poor spouse. So the question -- Am I imagining what I'm seeing there? Just overreacting a bit? Thanks everyone. EDIT: Okay, decided to listen to the sychronicities. I hope this works out as well as Steve's other recommendations! Last edited by HealingMaven; 12-31-2009 at 07:06 AM. In case anyone else is wondering about it. I signed up Dec 31. Spent a little time on it yesterday. Spent a lot more today (3-4 hours maybe). I'm really impressed so far. It does a really good job of hand-holding and walking you through everything, step-by-step. It's actually managing to make the process unintimidating - and interesting enough that I still haven't watched the last episode of Doctor Who with David Tennant that I downloaded early in the day. And I'm a HUGE fangirl of the show/man. |
