Default Steve, have you thought about teleclasses/webinars?

Hi, Steve,

Last night I gave my first teleclass for writers (I'm a full-time freelancer with two writing books under my belt) and it was a blast. I greeted callers for about 5-6 minutes, gave a 20-minute lecture, made a special offer (valid for only 48 hours) to encourage my participants to sign up for my e-courses, and then took questions for about 35 minutes. I let callers know that if they weren't able to ask their questions, they could go ahead and e-mail them to me.

The whole teleclass was under an hour. I got some wonderful questions during the call and later in e-mail, and so far two participants have signed up for my e-courses.

I used the free service freeconferencepro.com, which my own coach tells me a lot of coaches use. It was a bit wonky (a few people had trouble getting on the call, and it kicked me off once and I had to dial back in), but the price was right and it was otherwise pretty good. It also allowed me to record the call, and I plan to make the recording available as a download on my blog as many people have asked for it.

Have you considered doing a teleclass or webinar on a personal development topic? You could even charge for it, or you could use it to encourage participants to sign up for your next seminar, your coaching, your affiliate partners, etc. The only problem might be handling the huge number of participants you're sure to attract. I had only 60 callers, and there was a small issue of two people trying to ask questions at once, and the period where people were dialing in was a whirlwind as I tried to greet them all. But it would be a great way for you to reach loads of people -- many who can't afford your seminar or who have trouble traveling.

I'd be happy to share more of my teleclass experiences with you and what I learned about creating handouts, developing a special offer, moderating the callers, etc., but I'm sure that as a PD coach you probably already know most of this.

Just a thought!
