Someone on the other thread said this "I think Steve said sometime back. Brian Tracy says total B.S. "

I also have no idea what you're talking about. Brian Tracy's material was some of the first personal development stuff I was exposed to in the early 90s. I've been recommending his books and products for years. He may be a little too stuck in his head sometimes (not as heart-centered as many others in this field), but overall he has some great ideas that I've found useful.

Ok. I guess the person who posted that had no idea what he was talking about. Anyway, one of the advice Brian Tracy recommended was studying totally different subjects to give your head a rest from similar subjects. I wasn't sure on that, because Steve suggested doing all the similar works until it's complete so that you don't have to keep changing course of your thoughts which results in inefficient studying?

Brian tracy is excellent. I've found his book 'Create your own future' more practical/ useful than any other personal dev materials I've read. Steve's dexterity.com articles came very close though.

When you get back to a subject you already 'mastered' you see the incredible value of having focused on other subjects and how everything is coming together. When you read a book and read it again a year later you will see totally different things. Just because you evolved. | |

His book Time Power is basically a transcript of his audio program How to Master Your Time.

Recycling their materials -- I've noticed is what most PD gurus do. That's why I respect Tony Robbins, only wrote 2 books and everyone keeps begging him to write another and he won't. Once a PD guru has said their piece, what else is there really? Even my dear most beloved guru, Wayne Dyer has been recycling most of his material lately. John C Maxwell is the one that recycles with no apologies I tell ya. Almost word for word in his over 20 books. As for Brian Tracy, I agree on the charge he's too much of a cerebral dude. But his material is great....if you don't mind a little dryness.

| Well, i don't know if that's a bad thing. He gets to the point that.. yes, you have set goals, there's law of attraction, etc, but inevitably you need to be disciplined, proactive, work 1 extra hour every day for 365 extra hours in a year, etc. His book was the only personal dev product that got me to take more action after reading it.. most other stuff i just know intellectually but don't act on.
