excellent series, i very much enjoyed reading it.

now let's see, i'm communicating this through a clogged channel, using a pretty standard compliment type response. anything i missed? its a good job i'm not trying to build a relationship with this post

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Just for fun, can anyone spot any of the advice for communicating with busy people that isn't equally applicable to like, ordinary people?

This little piece of wisdom is something I really need to install properly in my mind. I need to be productive when I solve problems and implement solutions, because that's boring. Then I can spend more time enjoying solved problems by discussing them with people, letting the solutions bring income and just feel that joy of having accomplished something.

Thumbs up Superb

Hey Steve, this is the first blog post(s) of yours that I've read in ages and I can honestly say there isn't single word in there I disagreed with or haven't thought about myself in the last few months. I read it all in one go and really enjoyed it! Thank you for some gems!

Ok, I'm confused - what exactly does "busy people" mean - cause I don't know a single person who says that she "has time" - well, except two, who happen to be the most interesting persons I know in Bucharest. But it's usually the people who don't do anything they are proud of, who are the most busy.

However, I realize that in this context, busy means someone who can't answer your e-mail unless this e-mail is... as Steve suggested in the last 12 posts
But this kind of busy person does have the time to enjoy a raw vegan pie, or to attend interesting events. While the really busy person doesn't have time to go anywhere, has a job he/she hates, but will always answer anyone's e-mail, because she doesn't receive that many.

If you're agreeing with everything he says, then you're reading the wrong Steve Pavlina posts. If you agree already, you gain very little. You gain a lot more from the articles you vehemently disagree with Like "How to use a water bottle and a ghost to predict tables in Vegas"

It depends. I also agree with pretty much everything Steve says, but many times, I only agree after I read it, cause before, I didn't even know there was something to agree with to begin with. He puts interesting ideas on the table and tackles them in a smart way. I believe the reason I happen to agree with everything is because I have very few limited beliefs, no preconceived ideas and I am familiar with multiple approaches and I like to experiment with all of them.

I had never ready any of Steve's work before this series of blog posts. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it due to the overriding theme of "Treat busy people like they're human, and be a human yourself." It's amazing how far simply dealing with people like they are people will get you. It's applicable to all situations...if you treat someone as an entity (e.g., treating a CEO just as a CEO, treating a movie star as just a movie star), you will be treated as the entity that you approach them as (e.g., just a worker bee, just a fan). But if you treat them as if they are a person, and do so as a person yourself, you will be treated as a person in return.

It always amazes me when I make friends with individuals and people consider them unapproachable because of their "status."

Steve, this series was very helpful, thank you. I'd love to hear your and other people's advice on a related topic : Following up.

How do you establish that professional relationship with someone you've just met and would like to keep in touch with?
