The first half of this blog seems very close to what I’ve read and seen about hot looking women and how they act and read what men might be wanting from them. Interesting parallel between the two.

Apologies in advance for bringing down the standard of the discussion for a brief moment but Steve is right about Erin and the short hair...she looks hot

That is the cutest photo of Erin I ever saw. Boyish? Nothing boyish about you girl, you've got the curves

It makes you look spunky and vibrant...

Really? I never really liked the short hair cut. I cut my hair because it was falling out postpartum. I had given birth to Emily just 5 or 6 months earlier and cut all my hair off because it was shedding like crazy. Never thought I had the jaw structure to support a short hair style. I'm wanting to manifest someone who can tell me what hair style would look best on me. Anyone out there a professional in this area?

Steve, that point about Erin's hair should never have made it into the article. It pulls attention away from the rest of what you're saying. (The comments so far are a great example of exactly what I'm talking about.)

My (unsolicited) advice is to put stuff like that as the first comment in the forum, or send it out to your list as an additional personal comment, instead.

Probably the only thing I will remember about this post is that Erin's hair used to be short! (But I'm with Erin...I like her longer hair!

Yes really but that's where my expertise ends (my haircut takes about 5 minutes to do and costs £4.50)

Here's a comment someone left about that on my Facebook page:

"Nice segment. I like how you are getting people to consider things from other people's perspectives. Also, have to say that I love the part where you say how much you loved Erin's short hair cut. =) That particularly exemplifies the authenticity of your writing."

One person's distraction is perhaps another person's authentication.

It's a long series. And there's already so much discussion going on. I think the hair thing is sort of a breather for some people.

My hair is too thick to look good short (that's my limiting belief, do with it what you will)

It could be an opening for someone to network with Erin and become her new hair stylist.

I have to grin. You are such a celebrity. Look, a whole forum talking about your hair. Just like Julia Roberts!

I have really thick hair, too, but I get it thinned every time I go to a stylist. I know it's time to go back to the salon when I can't get my brush through it any more!

It's the most memorable part of the post...if that was your intention, I certainly don't have any qualms with it. Just pointing out that if your intention was to get people to remember pretty much anything else in the article, it isn't going to work with that comment in it!

A backdoor has been discovered.

Steve, do you have more suggestions of how you say no to others? I've had the same problem with saying no to too many extra activities while I'm in college (mostly the part about being asked too many questions).

Also, I'm not in tune with my gut unless it says I'm hungry, so I can't really talk about "my intuition" saying no.

I saw a fascinating interview done on the Ali G show where he somehow lands an meeting with Donald Trump to pitch a business idea to him. Here's the clip on youtube, YouTube - Ali G and Donald Trump

Usually Ali G easily gets people to believe in his character and treat it like he's really this incompetent person, but Donald doesn't bat an eyelash. He is VERY aloof and commits very little to the conversation. He ends the interview within 1 minute in a very diplomatic fashion. It doesn't seem rude at all, but he does it so quickly and abruptly.

If you continue to watch the other people that he pitches his idea to, it's a very different feeling watching how they react to Ali G compared to Trump. You can tell they feel anxious and think their time with him is useless, but they're less willing to cut it off, probably because they don't want to seem rude.

There's probably many different ways to analyze this scene, but I think the big difference is if you asked both Donald and the other managers what they would be spending their time on otherwise, Donald would have a much clearer answer.

My closest experience is the few times in my life when people have approached me in the street trying to get me to come to their spiritual bible study group. The most recent happened to me about 2 weeks ago, and although I felt anxious, I didn't want to blow them off. I ended up trading phone and email with them even though I had no desire to ever meet up. Guess I need a new strategy

My intention was for Erin to cut her hair short. Keeps it out of my nose when we snuggle.

Ok I started a new thread to discuss Erin's hair:
Should Erin cut her hair short?

I had the same vibe as the person in that comment. It gives your writings that personal touch. Also, a lot of your readers are repeat readers. We've read so much of your stuff it's like we know you personally. Adding in these little things IMO just adds to the article.

But of course, people can't always see themselves clearly. A needy person might see themselves a very non-needy person.

...so all I want from you, if I ever meet you, is for you to tell me what sort of vibe I give off
