hi steve, this is lalit from India. Few days back I was completely demotivated and screwed and did not have any desire to do anything because of the problems which have arisen suddenly. Since my childhood I was a very bright student and I was known for my go getter spirit. But after I joined my college, I lost my self control completely and right now I am in a state where situations are driving me rather than myself. Because of this ignorant life I was really feeling hopeless. One day I was surfing for some articles on self discipline and I found your blog, which just opened my eyes. You have touched the subject in so much detail that everyone can find his problem in your prescription. But one idea which u have illustrated in the above title, that set the goals which can do some betterment to your present is really not clear to me. I have some goals for my life because of my poor condition and how they are going to improve my present. I am totally confused. Could you please give me some more insight in this regards lalit |

Hi Lalit, I think what Steve means is that you should consider how certain goals you might want to achieve make you feel now. So for instance how does the goal of getting up at 6 am every day make you feel? Do you feel powerful, focused and productive when you consider that goal? Or doesn't it do anything for you? Goals that make you feel good NOW are way more interesting, since NOW is all you will ever have. Hope that helps! |
