Default Invasion of the Purple Tribbles?

Okay, this question has been begging to be asked. Just what on Earth is this:

Normally I don't have favicons on so I didn't notice it, but over the past year I've been wondering what this purple guy means. Is this something Steve made? Something related to Dexterity perhaps?

I've run it through the handy Daltonizer and it seems that because the creature is purple, Steve would only see gray. I suppose he would use the RGB eyedropper... What's the story?

Thanks.

Here's a question for the FAQ...

It is a character in Steve's game, Dweep back from his Dexterity days.

Hah, we both thought it was a tribble. Excellent!

Thanks, Daniel.
