StevePavlina.com has changed lives, and we all have our own story to share. When did you first stumble across the website? What articles were most inspirational? How has Steve's writing affected your life? I believe Steve gets several emails from readers telling their story. But why not have a thread to share them publicly? I think for most of us, StevePavlina.com initiated a change in direction, but surely our stories are varied and unique. Perhaps the website indirectly found you a love partner, made you rich, made you a time-management guru, or simply gave you tips on becoming happy. Whatever it is, the community would love to hear it. So, what's your story? |

I stumbled upon Steve's blog last October when he was in the beginning stages of his polyphasic sleep adaptation. I was interested in the topic myself, and he seemed to have a lot of thoughts about it, so I bookmarked it. Slowly but surely, as I began to return, I noticed links to other articles that were interesting. I read about time management and the meaning of life, among other topics. I eventually signed up for the newsletter, RSS feed, and began to read Erin's blog as well. There has been no sudden change in my life from any of this, but I've definitely seen major changes in myself from a year ago. I kind of saw my 20th year (November '05 until now) as a general "Intellectual Development" year, during which many of Steve's ideas began churning in my brain. I'm already starting to see this year as a "Social Development" year, which I didn't realize until I became a moderator of the Social & Relationships sub-forum and saw just what a difference a few words can make in someone's life. I'm really going to enjoy that job. |

It worked for the first few weeks but I've lapsed again into getting up late (although not as late as I used to). I should read that article again.

Yep, definitely his "How to become an early riser post" was the one for me I was just under a lot of stress and pressure back around May/June of 06, and a thought that waking up earlier would be beneficial led me to his site. Needless to say, I pretty much read every article and blog post on his site, and its had a huge effect on my life as a student (a very positive one). |

In my 2 weeks on the site, I've found frighteningly immediate results from following the suggestions made in the articles about: time management (timeboxing!), motivation (frequent revisiting of P.D. CD's), and productivity ("nothing is free if it costs you time").

It was only 3 months ago that I stumbled across Steve Pavlina's blog - just before he wrote about the Law of Attraction ... I was busy reading Ask And It Is Given by Esther Hicks at the time ... then he introduced The Secret to his readers ... 3 weeks later I had a copy and I have seen the movie several times now. All this at a time in my life in which I am making a few VERY profound changes, like moving back to Europe after almost 23 years in South Africa ... The mind boggles when I think how much he has helped to put my life on Fast Forward - I am soooo glad that I have found a mentor for my Personal Growth ... which was one of my intentions to manifest only a month before it happened! And now the forum : Thanks Steve, I am a Happy Chappy! Last edited by BlueCrane; 11-06-2006 at 10:52 AM. |

I'm probably one of the few people here who know Steve from his game development days. He had a whole bunch of articles for game developers at his dexterity.com site, and a forum starting around 2001 I think. Eventually Steve closed down the forum at his site and handed control over to others. It's now at forums.indiegamer.com. Some time later he started this site. It was amazing to watch it grow from nothing to over a million visitors per month. I've never seen anything like that happen right before my eyes. Around the time Steve started this site, I decided to quit my dissatisfying programming job and started to work fulltime on my computer game business. It has been a bumpy ride but I'm very thankful for my experiences and would make the same choice if I had to do it again. Steve also inspired me to become vegan, and to start exercising. I've been vegan for three years now. Last edited by Baltar; 11-05-2006 at 09:51 PM. |

I was browsing the internet at my then-crappy job and ran across a link to either the giving up caffeine post or the becoming an early riser post. This was a really depressing, difficult time for me, and I wanted to work on improving things about myself so that I'd have control over something in my life, since I didn't seem to have much control over a lot of other things in my life. The funny thing is that his posts started to take on a metaphysical flavor around the time that I needed to be reading that sort of thing. I haven't journalled my progress, so I don't have a record of exactly how exactly my life and outlook have changed, but I know that they have -- dramatically. I've gained a lot of hope and stability over the year or so that I've been reading Steve's (and then Erin's) blog(s). So I suppose this means that they met their goal in reaching the consciousness of one reader in cyberspace! I tell all my friends and family about the site (especially my mom and brother, who are very interested in personal development) but they haven't quite caught on yet...

I first came accross the "How to make money from your blog" and "How to get traffic for your site (or blog)", then I began to read the other articles. I'm still on the path of personality development, but I've been inspired after reading his posts. My problem is that I really don't put in much effort, it's like addiction only till now. I read and get "on a high". |

A friend of mine and myself were trying out some stuff on PsiPog, when he stumbled upon a link to Steve's 5th Podcast. After that, we listened to each of the podcasts, and started at the multiple articles.

It was intention manifestation, before I even knew what that was! I was at work on a Friday, frustrated that I was consistently missing the work goals I set for myself. I was completely unmotivated to do the things I know would improve my business -- they aren't "really hard" things to do, and I was confident in my abilities...I just didn't want to do them. What I needed, I decided, was to develop my self-dicipline, and take the positive results as reward for my hard work. So, I jumped on my computer & did a Yahoo search on "self-discipline," hoping to find something that would tell me what to do, and the first article that came up was Steve's "Self-Discipline" article series. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it was good and he made a lot of sense, so I kept reading.....for over 3 hours. I was hooked one or two articles later; Steve states in one of the blog posts on goal-setting (I forget which one now) that self-discipline is one thing, but if you are a smart person and have to force yourself to work toward your goal, you probably haven't set the right goal. That comment struck me like a bolt of lightning, and I haven't looked back. That was 2 months ago, and things are better than ever. I'm happier, healthier, and seeing results in ways I never thought possible. I'm fascinated by the Law of Attraction, and I can see it working everyday. Thanks, Steve! |

One day, for no good reason at all, I was looking through the old PsiPog website and noticed that one of the authors of the site drew alot of his inspiration from a site called StevePavlina.com, so I had a look. What I saw I really liked. Many of my earlier visits to the site were hours long, just absorbing all the ideas and applying them myself where ever I could. Steve has helped me in countless areas of my life and I'm truely grateful for that. To date, Steve is quite possibly my greatest influence, over many different areas simultaneously. The articles on law of attraction and disciple have been of great help (actually, almost all of the articles have taught me a thing or two). And even the early riser one helped me to at least get up at 7am all the time, regardless if I need to or not (5am will be the goal, of course). As others have said already, I've felt a huge shift in my conciousness within just this year alone, and it's only the begining. Steve has helped me in countless areas of my life and I'm truely grateful for that. |

I first stumbled on the site when searching, "How to make money without a job" or something like that. I listened to several podcasts and I became a fan once I started reading his blog posts. This was over a year ago.

The first time I discovered about Steve was back in 2002, after I downloaded and played his famous Dweep game. Then sometime in late August of 2006, an Internet marketer whose newsletter I was subscribed to, mentioned about Steve's article "10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job", and I was like "what???!! Steve Pavlina?? Isn't he that game guy?? So he's into personal development too....brilliant articles too.....what a versatile guy." |

Thanks Steve! that is all I can say. came accross his website and was blown away.....I have read New Thought and Law of Attraction stuff before and own books by Charles Haanel. William W Atkinson and others...(all of which, until I found Steve's website, I found more interesting than the more contemporary works of Wayne Dyer and his ilk) What I like about Steve is his GUNG HO attitude and yet scientific background I particularly like Steve because he is back to the spirit of LET'S GO FOR IT Whereas I find Wayne Dyer a little "well, ageing is inevitable....I am looking a little older..............we should accept the physical body deteriorates" Steve on the other hand seems genuinely "jived" at the possiblities of the LOA ...... more 'juiced' nice website that I came accross when doing a google search for info on Lucid Dreaming great stuff Not disrespecting Wayne Dyer who I like a lot but just stating my preferences to me Steve is more positive and as such, if there kis any truth to the LOA stuff, he should be more successful than Wayne Dyer Good Luck sir |

I found Steve through doing searches related to blogging and monetizing blogs. I had my first blog for a while but did not do too much with it. Then recently I got more active in blogging and was looking at the potential to make money through blogging. So Steve's posts on the subject was what brought me here, then I read some of his articles on motivation and such and just kept coming back.

Anxiety and depression were abundant in my life. Found StevePavlina.com and started reading. Hours every day. Just fell deeper and deeper, became almost suicidal. Now I know what I did wrong. I bought things too easily because I didn't have the energy to critize and think for myself (and tried to change too much too quickly). Now I am making my way back, and Pavlina.com is only a fraction (but still serves it's purpose) of my inspiration. A much more sound balance. Last edited by ImOpen; 11-06-2006 at 07:41 PM. |
