| StevePavlina.com has changed lives, and we all have our own story to share. When did you first stumble across the website? What articles were most inspirational? How has Steve's writing affected your life? I believe Steve gets several emails from readers telling their story. But why not have a thread to share them publicly? I think for most of us, StevePavlina.com initiated a change in direction, but surely our stories are varied and unique. Perhaps the website indirectly found you a love partner, made you rich, made you a time-management guru, or simply gave you tips on becoming happy. Whatever it is, the community would love to hear it. So, what's your story?

| I stumbled upon Steve's blog last October when he was in the beginning stages of his polyphasic sleep adaptation. I was interested in the topic myself, and he seemed to have a lot of thoughts about it, so I bookmarked it. Slowly but surely, as I began to return, I noticed links to other articles that were interesting. I read about time management and the meaning of life, among other topics. I eventually signed up for the newsletter, RSS feed, and began to read Erin's blog as well. There has been no sudden change in my life from any of this, but I've definitely seen major changes in myself from a year ago. I kind of saw my 20th year (November '05 until now) as a general "Intellectual Development" year, during which many of Steve's ideas began churning in my brain. I'm already starting to see this year as a "Social Development" year, which I didn't realize until I became a moderator of the Social & Relationships sub-forum and saw just what a difference a few words can make in someone's life. I'm really going to enjoy that job.

| It was only 3 months ago that I stumbled across Steve Pavlina's blog - just before he wrote about the Law of Attraction ... I was busy reading Ask And It Is Given by Esther Hicks at the time ... then he introduced The Secret to his readers ... 3 weeks later I had a copy and I have seen the movie several times now. All this at a time in my life in which I am making a few VERY profound changes, like moving back to Europe after almost 23 years in South Africa ... The mind boggles when I think how much he has helped to put my life on Fast Forward - I am soooo glad that I have found a mentor for my Personal Growth ... which was one of my intentions to manifest only a month before it happened! And now the forum : Thanks Steve, I am a Happy Chappy! Last edited by BlueCrane : 11-06-2006 at 10:52 AM. |

| I'm probably one of the few people here who know Steve from his game development days. He had a whole bunch of articles for game developers at his dexterity.com site, and a forum starting around 2001 I think. Eventually Steve closed down the forum at his site and handed control over to others. It's now at forums.indiegamer.com. Some time later he started this site. It was amazing to watch it grow from nothing to over a million visitors per month. I've never seen anything like that happen right before my eyes. Around the time Steve started this site, I decided to quit my dissatisfying programming job and started to work fulltime on my computer game business. It has been a bumpy ride but I'm very thankful for my experiences and would make the same choice if I had to do it again. Steve also inspired me to become vegan, and to start exercising. I've been vegan for three years now. Last edited by Baltar : 11-05-2006 at 09:51 PM. |

| I was browsing the internet at my then-crappy job and ran across a link to either the giving up caffeine post or the becoming an early riser post. This was a really depressing, difficult time for me, and I wanted to work on improving things about myself so that I'd have control over something in my life, since I didn't seem to have much control over a lot of other things in my life. The funny thing is that his posts started to take on a metaphysical flavor around the time that I needed to be reading that sort of thing. I haven't journalled my progress, so I don't have a record of exactly how exactly my life and outlook have changed, but I know that they have -- dramatically. I've gained a lot of hope and stability over the year or so that I've been reading Steve's (and then Erin's) blog(s). So I suppose this means that they met their goal in reaching the consciousness of one reader in cyberspace! I tell all my friends and family about the site (especially my mom and brother, who are very interested in personal development) but they haven't quite caught on yet...

| I first came accross the "How to make money from your blog" and "How to get traffic for your site (or blog)", then I began to read the other articles. I'm still on the path of personality development, but I've been inspired after reading his posts. My problem is that I really don't put in much effort, it's like addiction only till now. I read and get "on a high".

| A friend of mine and myself were trying out some stuff on PsiPog, when he stumbled upon a link to Steve's 5th Podcast. After that, we listened to each of the podcasts, and started at the multiple articles.

| Steve actually found me. I did not click on his link on no web page or go searching the search engines. I seen steves article on making $10,000 an hour. The article seem to show up my desk one morning at work. After I read it, I thought nothing of it and just placed it my desk draw. 2 months later a friend asked me if I read it, by then I already listened to every podcast and read almost all his articles (and still going). I feel the universe will play it course and I will be ready for anything EXCITING!

| Anxiety and depression were abundant in my life. I had enough and did a search on overcoming procrastination. viola! I read every entry that night, around 60, and I am now a regular viewer. In the last 2 years, I have... quit smoking quit drinking (12 month plan, 55 sleeps to go Lost 15kg Started martial arts again Become a great father Gotten out of debt Got goals become and early riser am much happier, and more relaxed And most importantly, I feel like I'm just getting started |

| I stumbled upon dexterity.com first after looking for material on procrastination; someone had linked one of the articles there. For some reason I didn't like the site, and the linked article didn't resonate with me at all. I don't really remember why, though. The funny thing is, I kept ending up there unexpectedly a few more times, before a blog I read at the time linked the main site. There I stayed. It took me another week or so to notice the sites were actually related. X-D |

| I also came across the blog some time last year when I found the article on how to become an early riser.

| I was looking for stuff on poly sleep in late July and came across this site. I gave the link to my friend. I only read a couple of entries (I think Day 1, 2, then mid-process, and the last poly post), but my friend read the whole thing. We both failed at switching to polyphasic sleep, but my friend kept talking about this site, saying how Steve has great info. I started reading his other entries and now I'm hooked. It's only been about 2 months though, so I'm still in the process of changing. |

| I feel Steve Pavlina’s biggest contribution to the world is Subjective Reality Thinking . His articles / books should be translated in hindi / marathi / bangla also . As many of these articles are already translated in Russian . |

| I found his site via stumble upon, I think it was the early riser post. I thought "wow, this guy is amazing". I read through most of his posts and listened to some of the podcasts. I really got thinking about some things in my own life. I don't agree with or believe in all the things steve talks about, but he has inspired me to think for myself and discover what I really believe in myself. |

| I found Steve's site through his article, "Triple Your Productivity" at Dexterity website. It was early days for the site - January 2005. |

| I first came across Steve's site by accident... Doing an unrelated search on google, I somehow stumbled upon his Polyphasic sleep article. This must have been... last May or so. I must've spent 3 or 4 hours reading the other articles on the site that night. It was strange... the feeling I got when I realized what a treasure-trove of information was here. It was like this was the site I've been scouring the internet for for years. I feel like my life has completely changed as a result. At the time, I was doing nothing of interest. Just going to work. Trying to find something good on TV in the evenings. I think I went through an accelerated transformation: I started by working on optimizing my sleep, of course. Then I started focusing on efficiency at work and at home. I was really into cleaning the house for a while It's unbelievable to me, that I've made so many changes to my belief system in such a short period of time. And yet, it feels like I've known these things all along. I just needed to be reminded. Lots of Love and Thanks, Steve!! You've changed a lot of lives. |

| I bumped into Steve's writing when he was still at Dexterity. I started reading his blog from the first post and I've been there ever since. Steve was one of the major influencers in my own personal development including starting my own blog, becoming a vegetarian and clearly setting goals. |

| Thanks Steve! that is all I can say. came accross his website and was blown away.....I have read New Thought and Law of Attraction stuff before and own books by Charles Haanel. William W Atkinson and others...(all of which, until I found Steve's website, I found more interesting than the more contemporary works of Wayne Dyer and his ilk) What I like about Steve is his GUNG HO attitude and yet scientific background I particularly like Steve because he is back to the spirit of LET'S GO FOR IT Whereas I find Wayne Dyer a little "well, ageing is inevitable....I am looking a little older..............we should accept the physical body deteriorates" Steve on the other hand seems genuinely "jived" at the possiblities of the LOA ...... more 'juiced' nice website that I came accross when doing a google search for info on Lucid Dreaming great stuff Not disrespecting Wayne Dyer who I like a lot but just stating my preferences to me Steve is more positive and as such, if there kis any truth to the LOA stuff, he should be more successful than Wayne Dyer Good Luck sir |

| I found Steve through doing searches related to blogging and monetizing blogs. I had my first blog for a while but did not do too much with it. Then recently I got more active in blogging and was looking at the potential to make money through blogging. So Steve's posts on the subject was what brought me here, then I read some of his articles on motivation and such and just kept coming back.

| Anxiety and depression were abundant in my life. Found StevePavlina.com and started reading. Hours every day. Just fell deeper and deeper, became almost suicidal. Now I know what I did wrong. I bought things too easily because I didn't have the energy to critize and think for myself (and tried to change too much too quickly). Now I am making my way back, and Pavlina.com is only a fraction (but still serves it's purpose) of my inspiration. A much more sound balance. Last edited by ImOpen : 11-06-2006 at 07:41 PM. |
