- apparently a vanilla sex life (according to the last post) ;-) - no permaculture living goals (at least that I know of...) - did not build own home, from scratch, in a tree - longterm breastfeeding (in the past - so who knows? - where are the burlesque performances? - does not make all his own clothes and cleaning solutions Clearly, it is hard to be more mainstream than Steve |

He hasn't given up all technology and left us to live in the woods. Since we're on the topic of mainstream, I had a thought earlier. I almost feel like there are many kinds of mainstream. There is the "main" mainstream, but there are other mainstreams. There's a Christian Mainstream, a Gothic Mainstream, a New Age Mainstream, etc. Many of these other mainstreams try hard to not be like the "main" mainstream, but they end up just falling into another mainstream. Or substream, if you will. It's like those kids in high school who try so hard to be "unique" and all end up dressing the same. |

It could become mainstream and the public school system instead devote all resources to providing incentives and subsidies to support unschooling endeavors.

| eww dairy products! Although I suppose you'd be looking for green-smoothie fed dairy sources... I wonder how healthy that milk is. There is a subculture that makes breastmilk cheese and creme and everything. |

c'mon you all have missed the obvious. He lives in Vegas! Probably the most unsustainable, hedonistic city in America, if not the world. It's the city built by gangsters, for gangsters. People go there to piss their lives away, not engage in "personal development". |

| ROFL! I was talking about the KIDS, I tell ya Of course, if you do get involved with a woman who is still nursing, I can tell you you will notice the...sweetness. Or so I've been told (and often by guys that don't know I am nursing, so it's not psychosomatic). |

It's never been a problem getting pregnant though, especially with our vegan fertility.

Personally, I don't think I'd want to go back to diapers once the kids are out of them!

So basically, he is too mainstream because he's human?? Next thing you are going to say he is too mainstream because he wears clothing, and isn't a nudist instead. Or that he has both hands, and he really needs to be an amputee victim before he can effectively be "non-mainstream". Wtf is "mainstream" anyways? Mainstream changes with time, so it really isn't anything.

* he hasn't built an environmentally friendly and sustainable recycled house in the forest by a stream built of rubbish and all natural materials, power from the sun, and hunting and gathering to survive, (sorry...just gathering!) but he still has his computer there to blog * he isn't a nudist * he doesn't howl at the moon every night * he hasn't expanded his amount of slaves enough and built a pyramid filled with personal development books *he hasn't run for president Still too mainstream sorry SP! |
