I wonder why Steve decided to write about this mental disorder... Strange turn and the writing style is different to his usual one. Very scientific. Does anyone know why this sudden change in his usual personal development topics?

Steve has posted recently on facebook about the dangers of being a "rescuer". I think this RDD post is a more scientific-sounding variation on that. But I agree, the writing style is pretty different. It's good to experiment with different writing styles, that's how we grow as writers. Maybe Steve was doing keyword research and found that this disorder has a lot of potential to bring in traffic?

I'm pretty sure it's a tongue-in-cheek dig at everyone who's saying how messed up he is for exploring polyamory lol. Not that it will stop being doing so of course. Don't listen to what other people say, that's how I live anyway. |

It's tongue in cheek. There is no such disorder in reality. He's commenting on how people like to draw conclusions about other people, often famous people, like they know them when they really don't.

People have more reason to legitimately believe they have a feel for what Steve's like than they do, say Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. He's kind of in the overlap between the famous and personal acquaintance spheres.
