Default Challenge Makes Things Easier

Something very odd has happened.

I've recently dedicated myself to a 7-day trail of raw food. However, after learning of Erin's commitment to a 30-day trial, going over Steve's own logs, and seeing people on the forum deciding to do a trail of their own, I decided to challenge myself to do the same thing, and extend my commitment to 30 days as well.

Before I did this, I thought I'd be discouraged by the challenge, but instead, it's actually bolstered my confidence in doing this. It's as if I'm looking the challenge in the eye and saying "Ha! You can't best me now. I just upped the stakes and called your bluff."

This is good feeling.

Maybe it's just the initial "rawr, let's do it" feeling, but I don't think so. It's actually the challenge of the task at hand that energizes you.

What do you think?

I agree with you. This and the daily mental ramming visualisation of cooked food as something really undesirable is exactly what helped me complete a thirty-day trial, although it turned out not to be a raw food trial because I ended up having milk which apparently cancelled all the other efforts.

Challenge is inspiring, it sparks that energy that fuels your spirit. I guess that's called passion

But you finished it, Francstoic, so you have that to encourage you when you do something else.

Passion. Hmm, I guess it could be, couldn't it?
