Default EXLUSIVE Chat with Steve Pavlina (see details)

Last week I had an exclusive chat with Steve Pavlina over the phone, and I recorded the whole thing. Well, I actually stopped recording before we were done, but not before I SQUEEZED a pond-load of useful information out of him and the whole experience was a pleasure. Here are some of the things we talked about.
----------
This week I interviewed Steve Pavlina, author of Personal Development for Smart People. Not only is he a published author, but he also has one of the most popular self-improvement blogs on the internet with over 2,000,000 monthly visitors.

This isn't the first time I've had the pleasure of interviewing Steve. You can read an interview I did with him as part of the Happiness Project. The podcast starts with Steve describing what he does on the career level. He then talks about his goal of aligning people with Truth, Love, and Power, which are the key three principles of his book.

Steve makes a distinction between setting 'smart goals' and living in the present. Did you know that Steve doesn't keep track of his finances, let alone set any financial goals? He just doesn't feel inspired by taking such action, and despite of this he's very successful financially.

I asked Steve how he comes up with his wacky experiments such as the Polyphasic Sleep, Raw Food Diet, and the most recent Juice 'Feast' diet. He also answers how he got started on the path of personal growth.

Did you know that Steve Pavlina was once homeless? Listen to what he has to say about that and about his failed business venture. It just so happened to be an excellent platform for learning.

I asked Steve a big question. What advice does he have for people that are considering suicide? You can find his answer around 19:00 and on in the Podcast. This Podcast offers much more essential advice from Steve on how to be happier and more successful.
---------
The above was a copy of the post I wrote to accompany the podcast we made. Now that you're ready, head on over and listen to our Practical Personal Development Podcast

You can use this thread to discuss the Podcast.

And I as well.

I have to do some errands first, but after that, I'll definitely give this a listen!

You're welcome, it was my pleasure to provide the interview for you. I have many more good ones coming up in the future. If there is anyone in particular you would like me to interview, let me know, and I'll work on getting them on the show.

Alex, you have a great website. I enjoyed the podcast thoroughly. You must get pretty good traffic to get Steve to give you an interview. Good for you. Keep up the good work.

Andrew, thank you, I certainly do appreciate the compliment, and I'm glad you enjoy the Podcast.

Good traffic is a relevant term, but I'm sure Steve and I saw eye to eye on the interview being mutually valuable, or else it wouldn't have happened.

Traffic or no, I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Thanks for doing such a great job interviewing Steve, and to Steve for being so honest, down to earth, and generally awesome during the interview.

Love and Light to you both!

Default Did they?

Did my parent really messed me up? Well, I could come up with such a long list of what my parents did or should have not done! However, I believe that we choose our parents, thus, the question I have been asking for a very long time now is 'How have I messed myself up?'

I remember, back at home, south of Europe, I must have been 7 or 8 years old at the max and making my way to my classroom. I liked school back then, I used to find "learning" very easy and almost a responsibility (I don't know why). Well, to move on, I remember a game I used to play as I was walking to my classroom...I could tell people what to do, telepatically (please take no notice of typos as this is not my language and I can't see a spell-ckeck option), easy things such as "stop and look to your left/right...drop your bag, etc.

I used to love it and thought that I was special. I also used to decide which outcome I'd rather see out of any given situation, watch it happen.

I have never ben able to do it again but I never forgot about it! For the last 30 odd years I tried to get it back but no joy. Is this why I have found this site?

So much I want to say, got so many questions and I am so fascinated by what I read...I feel like I can finally articulate my experience and my belief (and remove my fear) but I think I'll keep my first post short...

Now I am very eager to carrying on reading.

Alex, I loved this interview!

It was a bit hard to hear Steve, though. I've found that The Levelator can help even out the dynamics -- we use it on all our podcasts.

Regardless, this podcast was excellent and covered a lot of useful topics. It spurred about an hour or two of excellent conversation between myself and Kyeli, and inspired a couple of blog posts, too.

And of course I'm glad you had a chance to ask Steve the question I suggested. (:
