Thanks to Steve, many people are starting 30-day trials/challenges in these forums. Most of them contain valuable experience, advice and tips for anyone else who wants to do a similar challenge. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find such 30-day-challenge threads and they are often lost in the archives. Don't you think it'll be better to have a Challenges and Trials forum, or a Challenges and Trials sub-forum for all the main forums like Personal Effectiveness, Intention-Manifestation, Emotional Mastery, and Character & Contribution? What do you think, Moderators, Steve, Erin? PS: I know you can use search but honestly VB's (or any other forum software's, for that matter) search isn't that good... This has been brought up a couple times. What the conclusion has always been is 30 trials usually fit well into one of the already present categories (eg health and fitness, business, etc) If you are looking for raw food, you would then have to check health and then check 30 day trails. same thing with any other topic. What i would like to see is labels. Basically, were we have predefined tags (example, raw, 30 day trials, book recommendations, etc) and people when they start the thread could tag what if any labels fit. Then you could say, i want to see every thread with the label of 30days or whaterever and get a list. I dont even know if this functionality exists in Vbulletin, but i like labels better then a whole new board. I am interested tho in hearing other peoples reasons as to why it would be a good idea. |

Tags can be good too but they're almost the same as search. People hardly tag their threads properly and most useful info is lost in the archives... [I don't know whether VB has tagging functionality or not but in all the VB forums that I'm a member of, I've never seen it] The point isn't that they don't fit in any of the current categories. The point is that having such a sub-category or main category makes it more organized and easier for other people to have access to all the great info without 'hunting' for 30-day-trials/challenges. The health board, for example, has over 2,000 threads, spread over 51 pages. Most of them are not trial type threads. Currently, someone will have to wade through 51 pages of threads, if they want to find the experiences of other people who did a Raw trial, for example. Yeah, that would be nice to have a forum like that. We could all post on our successes and failures and it would be a powerful reference for anyone else who is willing to try the same sorts of trials. Kind of like Steve's blog entries on the Raw Food Diet, Juice Feasting, and Polyphasic Sleep, only with more people and more trials. Seems like a fantastic idea
