Newsletter status? Hello, I've been wondering about the newsletter. I think I've signed up for it twice, but I've never received any mail. Is it just on my end, or is the newsletter inactive? |
It seems like the newsletter is inactive, and has never been started. Steve's reasoning seems to be, "why send an email out to a limited number of people, when I can just put it on my blog and reach an unlimited number of people?" I signed up for it myself several months ago, but looking at it now, it doesn't seem like it would be as valuable as I originally thought it would be. ;) |
I think I've signed up for it twice by now as well. Mostly, I think, because I don't want to miss anything :p If everything's on the blog, I'm A-OK. :D -- Daniel Terhorst |
If all goes well I'll be sending out the first newsletter issue later this month. Blog traffic just grew so fast that I figured it was better to keep posting content there instead of using the email newsletter, which would reach a significantly smaller audience. But I want to use the first issue of the newsletter to announce the new forums, so now there's a compelling reason to get it going. |
That's good to know. Thanks for the information, Steve. |
Free Newsletter Status Okay, I'm a little confused. I subscribed to the Free Newsletter months ago, but I still haven't gotten any emails. I see that the Newsletter is being advertised again, but it only links back to the same page. Questions abound. Have the Newsletters started yet and I need to sign up again? Or if they've not started yet, when will they? Preemptive thanks. :o |
I've been signed up to the newsletter for over a year and haven't received anything either. |
Thanks for the feedback, S7. Then my suspicions are confirmed. Now the question remains, when will it start? And since Steve is probably already asleep, we'll just have to wait until morning. Goodnight. |
Already addressed in this thread: http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/g...er-status.html |
Excellent! Perhaps we should move this thread to the http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/steve-pavlina/ section? |
If you plan to send the newsletter to everyone on your list, have you thought about the "being labeld as Spam"-Problem? Someone who hasn't visited the site for halve a year will probably not remember that he has subscribed to the newsletter when you send it to him. Some of those people will click the "This is Spam"-Button. Intelligent Spam Detection Systems on webbased email accounts will label the whole newsletter as Spam. Your email provider could make problems because they think you spam people. |
Before I send out the newsletter, there will be a round of email notifications to make sure people still want to receive it, basically a round of double opt-in. I'll be using a service to send out the newsletter. |
Can't wait for the first newsletter is sent out!:) |
I just got a "personal insights newsletter" confirmation message. And the link it asks me to click is for 1shoppingcart.com (?!?) did that come from you Steve or is it some kind of spam? |
Steve signed up with a new service that is going to handle everything from our newsletter to our shopping cart. So yeah, that was us asking if you still want to be on the list. He is importing his list to this new place so we are doing a double opt-in again to make sure everyone who wants to be on the list is on it. Not spam. :) |
It's legit. 1shoppingcart.com is the service I'm using for the newsletter. Just click the link if you want to verify your subscription, or ignore it to be automatically unsubscribed. |
ok thanks for confirming that guys. |
Almost thought someone compromised your email lists Concerned what 1shoppingcart.com was and why they were confirming my email I searched your site and didn't find what it was. I had to search here to find it. It may be helpful if you note on the web page near or around the newsletter that the confirmation will be done with your new service 1shoppingcart.com. Look forward to the new newsletters! |
I was wondering about that as I got the newsletter confirmation this evening. It'll be an interesting read. |
