Lightbulb 30 days trials

Steve and all,

I'm new to the forum (2nd post), but have been reading StevePavlina.com for months now, and have a small suggestion for the forums. I have seen many people wanting to talk about and post progress on their 30 day trials in many different sections of the forum. Maybe a separate section just for 30 day trials should be added? I think people like to see support and feedback for their trials, and this would be an easy way to group them. Any ideas/suggestions on this?

-Phillip

As of now, we have been keeping the 30 day trials under the subject they are in. While i can see the benifit of seperating them, i think then it would make it harder to find the trials you are looking for. If you wanted to see a 30 day excerise trial you would also fine stuff on LOA, money etc, and would have to wade through a bunch of stuff just to see what you are looking for. At least right now, if you are looking for an excersie trial you are going to at least be looking at the topic you are interested in and not a bunch of other stuff...

I wonder is there is a way to combine the two..

I know that on some forum platforms, it is possible to move threads and leave a (locked) copy of the thread in its original location. Could something like this be accomplished....

-------

Create a new forum for 30-day trials, but only moderators are allowed to create new threads in this subforum.

People who are starting their own 30-day trials continue to do so as they are now, in the appropriate subforum.

When the mods see it, it gets moved into the 30-day trial forum, but a locked copy of it is kept in the original forum, which links to the current discussion in the 30-day trial forum.

-------

This way, people who are looking at (for example) the LoA forum will still see that the trial is going on, and will be directed to the discussion. But all the trials would also be aggregated in the same spot. Hopefully my description makes sense! I think that the idea of having a one-stop-trial-shop. This would make for some really neat comparisons across trials -- I love the idea!

Don't know if it would work, but it's a thought ...

i understand what you mean. And yes, mods can lock threads and move them. And when we move a thread we can leave a link on the orginal board. However, if we lock a thread, people cant post to it anymore. We can just move it and link to it so it appears in both places.

That is a good idea. I will have to look into this and see if there are further ramifications we dont see with this idea (besides what would appear to be double posts)

I will keep it in mind and mention it next time the mods talk about features...
