Steve says first you must say to yourself "I quit". Today I excused myself from a meeting because I am tired of the abuse. Whether I "attracted" the abuse is irrelevant, it's how I choose to act NOW. For seven years I have been doing amazing, fantastic work.. only to be insulted by the owner. After being belittled today, in a meeting that only makes sense in Science Fiction, I calmly said I wasn't feeling well. I filled out a sick-slip and went home. I'm not expecting much back-lash but all this talk about what is and isn't acceptable in life... well my work situation is simply not acceptable. I have stayed positive and indeed am making the best of it, but at the same time, I won't be denigrated either. I have personal standards. Hopefully soon I can say I'm a member of the "job quitters club". |

Excellent! True balls, I love it! I recently quit my part time job because I couldn't take the negative attitude most of them had, arguably some where OK but they all felt a little off to me. Anyway congrats! |

Thanks. What I'm most proud of is I didn't get in a fight like I may have previously. "Who do you think you are talking to me like that?"<--I've had that exchange plenty. But this time... calm, cool, deal with whatever comes. Life is too damn short. |

Congrats on standing up. I would say the next step is to say "this meeting is making me sick" or something like that.. haha. In all seriousness, taking a stand on behalf of your own well being feels very liberating, but before you actually leave the job, make sure you have a plan. I left my job after 3.5 years with no plans other than "not be here anymore". |

| Thanks. I'm going to do my best to stay grounded, at the job. I've done a lot of work on staying in the moment, observing my ego, not letting the drama of other people affect me too much. But I do have a limit. I deserve to work with people who treat each other in a professional manner, and who reward a job well done.
