How to Make Money From Your Blog I'm here to followup on Steve's blog post on How to Make Money From Your Blog (Should i link to it?) I'm looking for specifics on how much money one should / could expect to make per visitor. What are decent monetization rates? Is $.01 per visitor good or bad? I see $5 per CPM impressions thrown around as a standard rate. But is it real and what does it mean? Is that the rate for each banner on the page or for the total advertising on a page? Does that mean that for every visitor, assuming each visitor views four pages and there are two banners on each page, that a visitor = 8 impressions paying 8/1000 of $5. Which equals 40/1000 or 1/25 or $.04 per visitor? Oh, and another thing, when you are getting started blogging, you could read a lot of articles (many wrong) and stumble around lost. Or you could save yourself a great deal of time and pain and have fun from the start by taking a fun online blog writing course. |
Well, to answer many of your questions, Steve, and many people here, recommend Site Build It. They will take care of the "hows it work" behind the scenes, and you just tell them what to do. It's an annual subscription for $200, but I hear it's a wonderful program, and they have a money back guarantee as well! Note, however, I that I do NOT have any personal experience from them. As far as ads go, I have no real experience with them, but it seems that it's a small amount of people who actually click on ads, and on average, you may a couple cents per person that visits your site (that's including people who don't click). This is using pay-per-click ads, like Google Adsense, but there are others. Perhaps someone more experienced will come along to help you out. |
