I would be interested to know what kind of adjustments you'll be making to your presentation based on audience feedback. What kind of things have you learned from audience feedback at Las Vegas ICDI, and what are you focusing on to make your presentation more effective (inspiring, fun, whatever) at Tampa?

| Steve, this article was a gob-smacking, vigorous example of a highly effective person, just in the disguise of an announcement. It not only gives a simplistic glimpse at the essence of your business model and reinforces many of the things you've written about in your blog, but it also gives a great example of your planning method in action. People with career difficulties: this post is secretly the best post Steve has ever written on careers. I'm highly tempted to direct any of my detractors to this article, maybe even make up cards with a link to this article that I can hand out to people who wish to argue with me or pull the scepticism and fear cards. It only seems fair that I get to pull a card of my own. A great time saver, too! (Not kidding once again. I can get business cards made for cheap, and this'd save me *sooo* much time in terms of dealing with non-supportive people, and also help me maintain a positive mindset with fewer "negative" bumps from detractors. Free marketing for Steve is a win for both Steve and the person I share a link to Steve’s site with. One day I'll make a post like this blog post from Steve. It'll be tailored to me, but it'll have the same message behind it. Then I'll get some new cards made.

Steve's just expressing ideas, so there are many ways he can express those ideas, ranging from his delivery style, the examples he uses, tone, gestures, stories, audience interaction, emphasis on different speaking areas, etc. He probably has some sort of value model he uses to guide his speeches, or something, like what he does (did? not sure if he still uses it) for his purpose, projects, and anything else he might use values for. Since Pavlina LLC has values, I assume he still uses that model (it's ridiculously good when you see the entire model working together; took me a while to figure out how he must do everything, but man, colour me impressed; Steve's a great long-term planner, and using his specific ideas from that talent-based genius of his nets much effectiveness). No doubt Steve has some sort of model he uses for improving speeches (whether it's external or internalised), but yeah, that should give you an idea of what he might cover. If you could see both speeches (the first one he gave and his upcoming one), you'd learn lots. That's why I'm keen to hear basically anything from Steve; even if the content is something I've heard before, often I gain new perspective on things he's already covered before and his old concepts get greater depth as I learn more about Steve as a person. (This is partly talent related, and not something that everyone will enjoy or be good at. It's partly why I understand certain concepts such as strengths and talents and Steve's concepts so well--I know it's effective to increase your "lateral" understanding, which gives "horizontal" depth to concepts. It's a non-obvious benefit that pays off massive dividends. It's like getting more content from someone for free without them having to do anything. Extremely win/win.)

And if we're lucky, perhaps Steve will continue his work through Erin, or someone as spiritually receptive as Erin and share some insights from the other side. At least, before he heads of on other adventures. I love the idea of subscribing to StevePavlina.rip. I simply must find Steve when I eventually cross over, but no doubt he'll already be incarnated by then (but who knows?). If he is, perhaps I can have some fun. And yep, it just occured to me--the best relationships you can make with your time here are those that have potential to endure beyond your physical trappings. Wow, that's like a whole new paradigm for relationships. Massively clarifying and focus-creating. I swear, I get more benefit from writing for other people than I do from actively working on my own personal development, heh. I can see the article title now: "Helping others more effective than helping yourself" (but more interesting and written with the improved title-writing ability I'll have some point soon).

@Angela: I'm doing a lot of little changes like swapping in different stories to illustrate the points more concisely. I'll also devote more time to the practical application part at the end, so we can walk through two examples instead of just one. There are endless tweaks that can be made to a presentation like this. I felt the first version was a little too cerebral, which made it hard to stay emotionally connected to the audience. My favorite way of maintaining a good connection is to add more humor. Hay House said they received very positive feedback about the Las Vegas presentation, and it's hard to beat getting a standing ovation at the end, but there are countless ways to keep improving. I never give the exact same speech twice. @Bruce: Too much coffee today?

Someone start a thread for who will be around in Tampa at that point? I'm actually moving there. My lease starts in October! Haven't made the call about ICDI yet though. I already went to Vegas. @Bruce: I think you have a man crush...is there a budding Bromance in the air? this reminds me too much of that episode of Seinfeld. |

Sounds informative, as well as inspiring. It would be great to be able to go to this, yet distance (Australia) and money wouldn't allow for it. Perhaps one day I'll be able to see you speak in person, it would be a nice change of communication. And it's interesting to see another example of contribution through the internet eventually landing one large opportunities, in areas that would otherwise be more involved to bring about. It just goes to show that the potential of the internet can be leveraged far more than most would expect or even realize. Quote:
