Hey All, I don't mean to sound silly but I just checked the weather in Las Vegas and it's 39 degrees (and this is in the evening!) Thank god it's not humid. What kind of clothes should one wear when visiting Las Vegas for the I can do it conference? Are shorts/T-shirt okay? Should I wear long sleeved clothes if it's air conditioned inside? I want to keep my packing to a minimum, and if I can get away with it, not have to fly with checked baggage. Coming from Canada, I usually don't deal with temperatures above 35 degrees, even during midday. |

It will be 105 degrees Farenheit during the ICDI, outside. Inside, it will probably be temperature controlled at 72 degrees. If you're staying at the Venetian, wear clothing suitable for 72 degree weather. If you have to walk from a hotel to the Expo then you are going to sweat and swelter if you're wearing long sleeves and pants. But you'll be spending most of your time in the 72 degrees. At night it will be between 80 and 100 degrees, but once the sun goes down it's really not too bad to take a short walk outside. If you're not right across the street from the Sands expo, I would take a cab to the show. But that's just me. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Steve's presentation. I wonder how many people from the boards are coming... |

Ah, I totally forgot that the USA uses a different scale. Apparently 100-105F is 38-41C roughly, which is kind of hot. So if you see a 5'6 Asian guy in shorts, that's me. What did everyone choose in terms of sessions? Here's my schedule: Friday: June 27, 2008 ( 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM ) John Holland Saturday: June 28, 2008 ( 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM ) Dr. Darren R. Weissman Saturday: June 28, 2008 ( 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM ) Sonia Choquette Sunday: June 29, 2008 ( 11:00 AM - 12:30 AM ) Steve Pavlina Sunday: June 29, 2008 ( 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM ) Michael Neill Will also be there for the Thursday night talk. |

@Alex - having been to Las Vegas in the summer a few times, let me warn you that they really like to crank the air in most places! So it may be 39 outside, but you will be seeing your breath inside (I'm exagerating, but really...) Layers are your friend. You can probably get away with shorts, but bring a long sleeved shirt for layering. |

I just got in last night and it felt a little warm and windy. I was grocery shopping last night around 6-7pm and the car said it was 105 out. It's not as bad as the 115 while driving through Baker, CA, but it was plenty hot. During the week I'm wearing T-shirts and shorts, but during the conference I'll be in more "conference wear" of khakis and dress shirts. Unfortunately I don't have very many short-sleeve dress shirts so I have a couple of long-sleeve. Erin, you don't think taking the Deuce would be a good idea? I'm up by the Sahara. Also, if anyone wants to meet up (especially before the conference) let me know. I don't have anything planned save for a Toastmasters meeting on Wed. night and can host something since I have a large one-bedroom suite. I can also drive around if needed. Oh, and my current line-up: Friday: June 27, 2008 ( 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM ) Sonia Choquette Saturday: June 28, 2008 ( 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM ) Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. Saturday: June 28, 2008 ( 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM ) Iyanla Vanzant Sunday: June 29, 2008 ( 11:00 AM - 12:30 AM ) Steve Pavlina Sunday: June 29, 2008 ( 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM ) Timothy Freke I might skip Dr. Lipton's talk since there are a couple of 1-hr discussions that morning that include Sonia and Steve. One other question: Are the conference CDs worth it? Do they include the 1-hr discussions? Last edited by mikeschu; 06-23-2008 at 03:58 PM. Reason: Forgot the conference lineup |

Last year, I wore a sweater inside with the AC, and even then sometimes I felt a little chilly. Brrrr! But I usually need to dress warmer than the people around me, AC or no AC. Outside: short sleeves, sandals, capris. Here's who I plan to see this year: Friday: June 27, 2008 ( 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM ) Colette Baron-Reid Saturday: June 28, 2008 ( 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM ) Steven D. Farmer Saturday: June 28, 2008 ( 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM ) Robert Ohotto Sunday: June 29, 2008 ( 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM ) Steve Pavlina Sunday: June 29, 2008 ( 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM ) Doris E. Cohen, Ph.D. I'm arriving Thursday late afternoon/early evening, and if I'm checked into my hotel in time, I'll head over to the Thursday evening talk. |

What's the Deuce? Is that the monorail? If the Sahara attaches to the Venetian via monorail, definitely take that. There is free parking at the Venetian though so if you have a car that might work too. Which toastmaster meeting are you attending? |

@Erin: The Deuce is the double-decker bus that runs the strip. I'm not sure where I'd catch the monorail this far "north". I'm trying to avoid driving if I can. The TM meeting I'm definitely going to is the Bachelors and Bachelorettes one. I might go to the one on Tuesday at the Luxor too. Suggestions welcome; I'm not going to the talk on Thursday so that gives me an extra opportunity. |

My club meets Thursday afternoons from 12 to 1pm at 330 S. Valley View Blvd. It would take about 20 minutes to get to it from the strip. maybe less actually if you're on the north end. I won't be at this week's meeting because I'm doing readings on Thursday for early arrivers. Deuce: Wow, never seen it or heard of it! Just make sure it runs on time. |

@Everyone: Thanks for the advice! Is anyone interested in a general meet-up of Pavlina readers on one of the conference days, say, in the evening on Friday, Saturday or Sunday? I'm not sure where a good venue would be but getting to meet some fellow PD-oriented people would be a real treat. If people are here Monday during the day and want to do something then, I'm also still around as my flight doesn't leave until the evening. |

Bear in mind that after Steve's talk he will be doing a meet and greet from 12:30pm to 1:15pm. Good chance to get a few words with him and let us know who you are and that you're there. A good time to meet might be Sunday before his speech since everyone will probably be going to the same place after. You could camp out in front of the room or in the hallway nearby. Then we might even be able to stop by and say a brief hello on our way into the room. |

I'm a little annoyed that they (Hay House) is going to a paid/subscription model for their podcasts but there's not much I can do about it. I'd like to know if these are included in the CD set - that would help me go towards buying them. (BTW: What gives with sending 40 audio CDs? Can't they send an MP3 CD?)

Turns out they don't mail stuff to internationals, so I will just have to pick my package up when I get there. But it's good to know that there will be other sessions going on as a big reason why I'm coming is to see Steve ;-)

Yes for those who didn't get this info in the packet, Steve is doing a broadcast on Saturday from 12 to 1pm in the hay house radio area (main auditorium I believe, unless they changed it). If you're a PDFSP member, come up and say hi to me/us when you can |

If it was being held at the LV Convention Center, then I'd be on the monorail no problem.

Yeah forget the monorail. Are you sure you don't just want to drive to the Venetian and park? Plenty of parking, you'll get there when you want to get there, etc. Does the Deuce stop near Venetian? |

Erin, do you happen to know a day spa/fitness center that allows kids? Canyon Ranch at the Venetian and some of the other casino spas I've called require 18+, and Danger Boy is only 14. We'll be sticking around all day Monday but of course checkout is midday, so we thought a spa/workout would be just the ticket. Any ideas?

In a place like Las Vegas, wouldn't it take quite a while just to have your car cool down to a hospitable temperature? Well, I was reading Steve's posts on previous years' events, and even found a couple of pictures - it looks like the people there are dressed quite casually. But what is interesting is that 80% of the attendees are female. Too bad I'm gay ;-) |

Yes definitely a lot of females attending this conference. I remember one year a guy was getting a reading in Doreen Virtue's workshop and mentioned he was single and she said, "Well you came to the right place!" She had him stand at the front and talk about himself a little and told the women in the room to get in touch with him if they wanted. It was funny |

Lisa Williams was, in one word, amazing. She is a truly gifted psychic. I got teary eyed a few times when she communicated with deceased relatives/friends of people who really wanted to hear from them. Particularly the part where she says "He/she wants you to know that he/she loves you very, very much, and that he/she is safe."
