| Really no offence, but how come there's an "Asian Girls For Love & Marriage" ad on this site? Photo, weight, height and age included? I can understand the benefits of having advertisements on a webpage, but I don't really see the connection between 'personal development for smart people' and 'buying a chinese bride'. (For the forum moderators: I didn't really know where to put this post, so if you think it shouldn't be here, you can remove it. It's just that I keep noticing strange ads like this on good internet sites more and more these days and this one kind of blew me away |

| They use Google AdSense, so they really don't have control over the ads that show up. They are usually contextual, so it is weird that they would display such ads.

| What's ironic is that the title of your post is putting more of those ads on the page. We can block certain urls from advertising on the site but only if people let us know the actual url, not the ad since we can't find the ad cuz it's in rotation. To anyone reading, if you see an inappropriate ad, get the exact url for it and report it to a mod.

| "Find Your Ukraine Beauty Today!...." "Browse Photos NOW!" "JOIN FREE!" "UkraineDate.com" I don't know what all the fuss is about. I think I just found my purpose in life. And it didn't even take 20 minutes!

So it automatically reacts to the contents of a page... Didn't know that. By the way, how come it's always girls and never guys in these ads? How will I ever find my purpose in life now!? Quote:

| Yes, the posts and headlines generate many of the ads. We had a ton of religion ads when the religion discussion was hot. Don't know what posts are promoting those foreign lady dating sites - but I have heard many of the Asian sites are promoting under-age girls. Slave trade is off the charts right now - sad but true. I agree with with Erin on reporting specific url's. |

In addition google isn't smart enough "jet" to make the ads dependend on your gender.

| I occasionally visit another forum, which often has rampant fire-and-brimstone screaming ideologues ranting against Muslims. I usually ignore these tirades, but occasionally look in to see what caused the wingnuts to pop their cork this time. One more than one occasion, I noticed that the Google ad at the top of the page was for 'Sharia Dates', or an Islamic dating site. It is interesting to read the reactions when the anti-Muslim nuts notice the veiled girls in the ads staring back at them... |

| LMAO @ WanderingOak. That's hilarious. The things that get people riled. BTW, also remember if your computer is infected with spyware, you will likely see porn ads or ads that have nothing to do with the site you are viewing.
