Thumbs up Message of Thanks to Steve, Erin & Many Others

To Steve, Erin & Many Others,

The last few months of my life have been some of my most difficult, and anyone who has seen my only other thread on these forums can tell from that. I, even until recently, still had a large tendency to complain about my problems, and I turned to this forum for assistance, having no one else in my life capable of giving me any real advice on the matter. What I got from the forum were various perspectives, of which gave me the ability to take a good, hard look at my options. What I read from other threads, and the many articles Steve & Erin posted, helped to strengthen many perspectives and ideas I had been formulating for over seven years now.

Steve in particular, responding to my "call for help" thread, posted these words.

Quote:
What a wonderful position to be in. I mean that with all seriousness because it's these kinds of incredibly tough situations that ultimately shape us into something extraordinary. You're very lucky to face such a situation in your 20s, although it may not seem so now.

I can't tell you the answer, but I can point out the real question you're asking, which may make it easier to decide what to do. Your real question is, "Who am I?" Consider each of your options, and for each one of them ask yourself, "Is this me?" Which of the possible paths before you best reflects the real you?

That's all you really need to decide. Which path is me? Many times the answer becomes clear when we look at it that way, but we resist and resist because we don't yet accept who we are. The external situation just is -- the struggle and suffering exist only in our minds.
This bit of wisdom, changed my life.

Without these perspectives, I would not have formed as clear a picture of who I am, and what I will do with my life. I do not pretend I have reached the pinnacle of my potential, far from it, but my current situation has changed, so rapidly, for the better, and so many positive paths are laid before me....all stemming back to the debate, opinion, banter of this site...combined with the unexpected generosity of some family, and then, my own discovering of the force of my will to consciously shape my life....

To make a long post short, if any of you ever want proof that Steve & Erin have made a positive impact on our world, I am it. I do not proclaim to have reached levels of success that some other have, but these two good hearted people have set in motion a series of events in my life that gave me perspective, varied opinions, and non-judgmental advice that at this most critical time, played a huge role in raising not only my "quality of life", but my consciousness as well.

To Steve, Erin and all others brought together by this site, I thank you!

Regards,
JoeRad
