Default Articles vs. Blog Posts

This is something that's always been in the back of my mind, but never really asked about it much.

So I'm wondering, what's the difference between the two? Why not just write blog posts out of them rather than have a whole other "article" section. Were the articles written for a different audience? Were they written before the blog? Or what?

Some people use the terms interchangeably since their articles are meant to be for their blog postings. An article tends to be more research-oriented, providing facts. Whereas a blog post tends to be more personal, sharing of an experience. Then again, there is no clear cut definition; it's really up to your writing style and what you intend to use the article for.

I know that. evelynlim .

I was referring to Steve's actual sections on his site:
Personal Development Articles
Steve Pavlina’s Personal Development Blog

Steve's articles appear to be created from WordPress pages, while his blog entries are created via WordPress posts.

So I was wondering why not just use all posts, or have them all in one format, etc.?
