| Hey Everyone, I had an amazing intuitive reading with Erin this past week, and she suggested I considering a trip to Las Vegas for the I Can Do It! Conference. I totally had never considered it, and yet I thought "why not?" This year, I have the time and the money to go, so there's really no excuse - and lots to gain by going. So I'm wondering if anyone can recommend where to stay in Las Vegas for a reasonable price that's close to the conference venues. I really don't know what's reasonable for Las Vegas, so any guidance would be helpful. I'm also wondering if Steve or Erin mentioned anywheres if they'd be doing a gathering of sorts. And lastly, is anyone else heading to Las Vegas from Calgary? Alex

| I checked websites such as Expedia, Orbitz, ect, as well as going directly to the hotels' individual websites. The least expensive hotel I found nearby is Casino Royale. Because the Venetian is HUGE, it's about a 15-minute walk from the lobby of Casino Royale to the conference, walking through the Venetian. As with many Vegas hotels, the lobby and casino are smoky, but the rooms are clean and quiet enough. The three nights of the conference average under $79. Other hotels within half a mile: Treasure Island: $137+ Mirage: $179+ Harrah's: $155+ Flamingo: $150+ Imperial Palace: $76+ Cesear's Palace: $223+ If you want to see where everything is, zoom in really far on Google Maps at the corner of Sands Ave and S Las Vegas Blvd, and it'll label the hotels on the map. |
| |||
| I will look forward to meeting you there, Alex! There are some supercheap motels available for less than $79 a night. Circus Circus is also quite cheap. Search Hotels.com for the super-bargains. If you want to indulge yourself a little, try calling the hotels directly and tell them you'd like to know if there's a casino rate available (often less than half of the rate you'll find on the website.) You might get lucky -- I did! |

| I'm considering it. I'm looking at going for the week before as a full vacation. I typically go to the Hilton Resort on the Strip, which is by Circus Circus. I splurge a little bit there as they have rooms with full kitchens and no casino. It's worth it to be able to cook and save a little money. That reminds me, I need to put a deposit down.... |
| |||
| Thanks for the tips everyone - I will check them out and possibly make a few calls. What sessions are you all registering for? I'm definitely getting the full conference package but it looks like the pre-conference sessions might be worth attending too.

| I really love the pre conference workshops. My favorite part, because you get the full in depth on a particular subject. I've done Doreen Virtue's workshop and also Gordon Smith's (the medium). This year I'll probably go to Sonia Choquette as I hear she's fabulous.

| I'm officially "in" this year. I'll be going to Sonia's Friday event. Question on choosing the concurrent workshops: Is it okay to switch at the conference? I wasn't sure if I was locked in to my choices. |
| |||
| Most likely you will not be able to switch. Last year I tried to get into a different session and they literally didn't have a chair for me and I was denied. It was frustrating but hey, that's why you sign up in advance. You can only switch if someone else switches out or if there is still room in the session. Fire codes and space and all that. I also think the authors are paid a percentage of how many people sign up for their workshops (I don't know this but I do suspect it). It's a separate fee so it makes sense. Pick one and stick with it my friend.

For what it's worth, I'll be in the Friday Choquette session. The concurrent sessions I selected are Bruce Lipton, Iyanla Vanzant, Timothy Freke and some guy named Pavlina. Perhaps we should arrange something to exchange notes and ideas from the other concurrent sessions? |

| Just a quick check - does anyone know what's the difference between preferred seating and general seating? There's a $100 difference but if it means a better seat where one can actually see, it may be well worth it. I think I'm going to book the Casino Royale (thanks a lot for pointing it out Kaspian!), it's inexpensive and within walking distance.

| Preferred vs. General Seating: Last year there were about 7,000 attendees. During the keynote speakers there is a front section (preferred) and the general section. If you're sitting in the preferred section, you can see the speaker on the stage pretty easily. If you're in the general section you'll be watching the big screens they have on the side. My personal feeling is that unless the person speaking is someone to whom you really really want to see up close, that the general seating is just fine. My exception to that is the Thursday night pre-conference speaker, Lisa Williams, who will be doing some readings in the audience. For an extra $25 you can sit in the front section and she may be more likely to select you for a reading. not sure how she works, I haven't seen her in person before. But if money is an issue, i would skip the preferred seating. Note that all of the breakout sessions are in individual banquet rooms that hold between 100 and 500 people. No preferred seating is in there so if you buy preferred seating you're only getting it for the keynote speakers. (1 each morning and 1 each evening) This concludes my diatribe on the preferred vs general seating.

| Hey thanks Erin, that brings a lot of clarity. Hopefully we will have an opportunity to meet, even briefly maybe, during the conference. If you and Steve can find the time for a mini meeting with some of us readers, that would be awesome

| We'd certainly love to try for a mini-meetup. Last time we did it early in the morning before the other sessions began (it's a really packed weekend with not much time for breaks) and we actually continued on through the morning keynote, so some people left our little merry group to go to the keynote. This year it may be tougher as we might have part of our schedule dictated to us. But we'll see what we can do. Of course, stay tuned to our blogs for info on that.
