Maybe it would have more value if you (and I) see what's written as a conversation you're having with yourself. And then see where you have the same conflicts and reactions in your own life.

That way it adds some value to who you are rather than being a conversation in conflict.

But the only way something steve wrote could conflict with someone is if they are thinking for themselves. If someone doesn't think for themselves they would nod their head at everything they read.

Not exactly - they could be repeating rhetoric from elsewhere.

But yeh, I find it a very strange assumption that any disagreement with Steve must be unthinking.
