| Do you really think that our leadership (which, by the way, are the Democrats who control both houses, who, I would assume you would classify as lightworkers by the clearly biased nature of your article) should be compare to the Nazis and to the Devil himself? I find it hard to believe that SMART people would be so willing to follow this line of thinking but that is exactly what Steve is spouting in this article and in the followup forum. It appears to me that Steve is working as a darkworker by promoting fear, attempting to gain power of at least your thoughts and is generally unconcerned about the condition of the body. Do some research on what our leaders have done, don't just mindlessly follow a lunatic. It is thinking like this that is the cancer that is destroying the US. Remember folks, you elected them, they represent you, if you don't like them, replace them and thank your God, your shoes or whatever it is you worship that you have that chance. Most of the people in the world don't. Start local, go out and do something good for your own community. YOU aren't going to change anything in Washington anyway, so quit wringing your hands about it. Make the changes where you can and quit worrying about it. Quite frankly, this kind of nonsense is seen as pretty pathetic by most in leadership. Do you really think that anyone says to themselves "now let's see, would all the bleeding hearts out there be slightly offended if I were to pass this piece of legislation...." Doubtful. |

| This doesn't sound very representative to me. The average citizen is not pleading, "Please take a third of my income but don't fix any our nation's failing infrastructures with it!" The common American dream is pro having a happy, healthy home, with respect and love from family, peers and employer. Instead we have a failed drug war, a failed prison system, a failed Iraqi occupation, a failed economy, a failed immigration policy, along side representatives who are more concerned with image and party line voting instead of the public interest.

A large part of the world's population would do anything to be able to go and live in the US. The US is, in my opinion, the best country in the world to live in. I'd love to have been born there. | I may be better off than a homeless person or some prisoner, but I still see areas of my life and my consciousness that I would like to improve. I don't say to myself, at least I'm not them and then never try to improve. The US has unlimited potential, for harm or good. The policies I mentioned are harmful to many, many people, probably everyone. To imply harmful policy is acceptable simply because other countries have worse policies is intellectually dishonest at best.

But nonetheless, the US is a great country, and i will risk to say that it has much more opportunities (considering the wealth and the capacity of the technology nowadays) than any place else in the world in any time of history. You just sounded to me in your former post like you're not happy with the US but i may have misinterpreted it.

| I re-read Steve's article again, except this time I changed the definitions of Lightworker and Darkworker in my head and the article now makes total sense to me. I had to use these definitions though: Lightworker - Someone who focuses on using LOVE energy towards him/her SELF and the WORLD to accomplish things. Darkworker - Someone who focuses on using FEAR energy towards him/her SELF and the WORLD to accomplish things. Essentially I had to throw away any previous definitions of Lightworker / Darkworker Steve proposed and just replaced them with more traditional ones as described above. Under the context of using those definitions, the article totally makes sense and I totally agree that the world is becoming more polarized with Lightworkers rising up as the Darkworkers rise in power. It's exactly as described in the Celestine Prophecy books. |

| I agree with those who say this article was not helpful - but it was an interesting glimpse into the psyche of the author. I really enjoy Steve's writing and find it useful most of the time. The lows on this blog have been the 30 day raw food trial, any/all political commentary (no matter how artfully buried in the text), and this lightworker/darkworker/polarization BS. I've read several articles by Steve about this stuff now and remain unconvinced that there is any validity to it. Who's working for the good of humanity? Who's working to the detriment of humanity? The answer is everyone, all the time, is doing something that will bring results, and those results will be interpreted as good by some people, bad by others. Who decides what is good for humanity anyway, or that what is good for humanity is necessarily "good" in a universal sense? Lots of people think they know what's best for humanity. It usually involves trying to control what other people do. Working for selfish motives makes sense because at least you can define to yourself what you think is best for yourself. But when you arrogate yourself to the point where you think it's your duty to fix the world for everyone else, and convince yourself that you're being unselfish by opposing the selfishness of others, you are simply deluding yourself. The reason why 1/3 of my income is stolen from me before I even get my paycheck, and thrown into a black hole where I'll never see it again, is because other people think they know what's best for me and everyone else. I'm not saying people shouldn't get involved in trying to change the world. I'm just saying that you should at least be able to admit that you're trying to create the kind of world you want to live in, and selfishness is as much a factor here as it is in anything else you do. Adam Smith explained how this concept works in business: As every individual, therefore, endeavours as much as he can both to employ his capital in the support of domestic industry, and so to direct that industry that its produce may be of the greatest value; every individual necessarily labours to render the annual revenue of the society as great as he can. He generally, indeed, neither intends to promote the public interest, nor knows how much he is promoting it. By preferring the support of domestic to that of foreign industry, he intends only his own security; and by directing that industry in such a manner as its produce may be of the greatest value, he intends only his own gain, and he is in this, as in many other cases, led by an invisible hand to promote an end which was no part of his intention. Nor is it always the worse for the society that it was no part of it. By pursuing his own interest he frequently promotes that of the society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it. What Steve says about the power of "polarizing" - how your abilities increase dramatically once you decide what "side" you are on, is true. But really what's going on here is that most people are so confused about what they want in life, what they care about, and what they stand for that they are completely ineffectual. Those of us who decide clearly what we want and what groups/movements we want to align ourselves with will always be more effective than those who remain undecided and confused. All of the powers in the universe that share your alignment will come to your aid. But I think it's absolute crap to say that you have to decide between "light" and "darkness." Obviously Steve considers himself a "lightworker" or else he would never have written about this. It would be interesting to see which people he has labeled as "darkworkers."

I do think its OK to call ideas "crap" if thats what you feel. If you read the entire tone of my post I also used the world "love" when referring to Steve. The respect I have for Steve is higher than you can imagine; but nobody agrees with 100% of what anybody says... As for the whole "Darkworker" and "Lightworker" classification, its my opinion that specific "intents", "actions" or "decisions" can be labeled Lightwork or Darkworker. A person can even be predominantly Light or Dark however the absolute labeling of oneself as a Lightworker or Darkworker is almost impossible. If I put focus on the word "worker" then that would mean that its a form of doing or even a form of continous intent on an ongoing basis. Now when it comes to subjective reality (which you, in turn, may consider useful) i just get turned off and don't even bother to read it anymore. It's all about perspectives and how some issues resonate with some better than with others.

If you desire to benefit ALL, then place your Service-To-All ambition above the ambition for profit. This is the essence of lightwork. There are people who ask to be fed, and so one feeds them. This is the very definition of service to others. When you declare this to be selfish, you are engaging in doublethink. Interesting enough, the author called this process "Polarization", which may be where Steve even got this whole idea from unconsciously or consciously if he read those books. |
