Default Steve, How did you market your Blog?

As a new blogger, I'm fascinated by other bloggers marketing strategies. I want to know the most effective way to produce the best results.

I don't think (I could be wrong) you still have to market your blog at this point. But what did you do in the beginning to get your word out about your blog? I know there's the obvious creating solid quality value and content. But was there any specific plan you had for marketing your site?

I really appreciate your advice. Thanks Steve!

That's a great article, so is how to build a high traffic website.

The only real suggestion Steve offers though is using blog carnivals. Other than that all the advice on traffic building is indirect ways to influence your traffic, providing value, timeless content, authenticity, depth, etc. I think those are all fabulous things. But you have to get the word out as well a little somehow too first, you know?

I second this. I heard about Steve's blog through another blogger that I read regularly - after the second time or so she mentioned his work and linked, I came here to check it out. If you're offering value, people will tell other people about you!

Side note: There are a few people that actually translate Steve's blog in their own words, too.
