| Use this thread to discuss the following entry from Steve Pavlina's blog: PhotoReading Discount Expiring |
| |||
| Unfortunately that's the nature of temporary offers. I wish I could keep the discount going indefinitely, but the longer it runs, the greater the risk of cannibalizing some of the publisher's regular sales. My PhotoReading page already ranks in the top 10 on Google for "PhotoReading," so IMO that's a reasonable concern.

| I've found that I have picked up general ideas on what a book is about by going through the photoreading process, but I am not sure if I am getting the details as well as I should. I know that is what rapid reading is for, but I found that I have to go through activation a few times to get through a book. Is this normal? I believe it goes along with the idea of peeling back (or adding on) the layers of comprehension. Thank you for the recommendation and the discount, Steve. doz0234: Why not purchase it for someone else for Christmas right now? |

| I knew Learning Strategies has made similar discount offers via private newsletters that go out as a one-time emailing, but I didn't know of any discount offers available via public web sites. If so, I wonder how long those offers will last. It might be that this site's traffic makes the risk of sales cannibalization a little too high to offer a permanent discount.

Is there a way this can be extended a month? |
| |||
| Hmmm... I doubt it, since it was already extended a month. I'm also going to be recommending another of Learning Strategies' products (with a discount) later this week, once I've been using myself for 3 months now. I'll ask them about it to see what they say though, since I can understand the reasoning.

| I had been putting off buying it myself until after the crazy holiday stuff. I knew i would not have the time to invest in it until after the new year. Also i wanted to deal with Chistmas presents and such before buying things for myself. However, i really dont want to miss out on this, so i ordered mine this morning. It was only a couple hundred and change which was wonderful and i really look forward to getting it. Would i have liked the discount to last longer so i could get it in january? Yes. But really i am more grateful to Steve for offereing it in the first place, reviewing it, letting me know it was out there, and extending it once already. That extra month gave me the time to research it more, and get money set aside for it, so Thanks Steve! |

| I asked them about it and explained the situation about Christmas gifts, and they agreed to honor the discount codes through the end of the year. The discount code is E906V-2 if you want to use it. Ask and it is given.

| I've been wavering back and forth about ordering the Photoreading. I've googled 'photoreading scam' just to see other opinions (I'm not buying them fully -- none have the detail you give in your 'it's good' review). BUT I really want to read technical books (programming, HTML, science, or even a complex law or politics book -- and no, I'm not in college). What's the most technical book you've read using this system, and how does it compare to reading a book on another topic like self-improvement that wouldn't involve, say, source code or equations? |

To anyone who is buying the PhotoReading course (the normal or the Deluxe version) and is going to be busy during the holiday season (and as such, not have much time to try out PhotoReading and go through the course), so long as it has been no more then 30 days since the date of payment (not the date of shipping - it has to be the date of payment), you can contact PhotoReading to get your Money Back Guarantee extended from the original 30 days to either 60 days or 6 months. To quote the Learning Strategies website: Quote:
You can probably extend the Guarantee by phone as well (pretty sure you can), but I have no experience with that, so I won't recommend it. The email address I used to extend the Guarantee was: Orders@LearningStrategies.com |

I told a coworker about the course, and he gave me a challenge: photoread his geometry/trig book. I plan to do so before the end of the year. I'll try to remember to post about it when I do. |
