Darkworking

A few days ago, I was skimming through StevePavlina's archives and ended up reading again the polarization posts.

This time, it made perfect sense for me. Darkworking, or the "conquer" mentality; one of the men who affected me the most on my life is not yet 25, but already a self-made millionaire: he tried to smack his philosophies inside of me, but only now I DO GET IT. He is, hands down, a darkworker (if you want to apply Steve's definition) and now that I understand his "thought frequency"... What a jolt!

It feels like there's fire inside of me; if I stop, it's going to burn me down. It has got to be directed, used to move forward, evolve.

This is really weird. Just after immersing myself and truly seeing what the guy I talked about meant, I tried to conciliate the love and share mentality, the giving if you want, with the conquering. It is true, it simply doesn't work; it is not effective. While on that state, I felt like a shotgun, spreading energy all around. Also, when I to tried to lean more on the "love" side, it also didn't felt right for me - because I WANTED things, yet I was ignoring that and focusing on what's around me, instead of what's inside of me. Right now, it feels like a sniper, fully concentrated, no internal chattering or whatsoever.

This was a bite sudden, I have to admit. But, nonetheless, pretty amazing. Darkworking is, for me, the way to go.

I just want to say thank you to Steve, for making polarity matters so clear, and for everyone on this forum who has put up with my confused posts, from time to time.

Let the CONQUER begin!

I'm glad you had a polarzation epiphany, I'm still trying to decide. Would you care to share what your friend had shared with you which sparked this transformation to the dark side of the energy?

He is a guy that I met online. Pretty much on the vein of StevePavlina, he went ahead and started his own forums. He advised people and posted his philosophies and motivational kickings there - most of them, pretty harsh.

I can't really nail it down on a sentence, but this is the kind of stuff he used to write (pardon the offensive writing):

In the years gone by, when i was sleeping, he was working. When i was watching TV, he was exercising. When i was playing video games, he was studying. He did the things i hated doing, for YEARS, but now, FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE he will live the life that 99.9% of the Earth's population can only DREAM of. And you know what? That (my behavior) makes me very... VERY angry. The life of MY dreams should be MY life, dammit!

I don't know about you, but even though its 6PM and i just got back from work, i'm turning around and going right back. Screw the traffic, i've got work to do! And afterwards, i'm gonna really, and i mean REALLY punish myself at the gym. Then i'm gonna go home, bury myself into the most potent psychology book i can get my hands on, and learn as much as humanely possible in the one or two hours i have left in the day. Then i'm gonna get a good night's sleep, jump out of bed, shower and run towards my car because I CAN'T WAIT to get to work! Goddammit, "if i do the things i HAVE to do WHEN i have to do them, the day will come when i'll be able to do the things i WANT to do WHEN i want to do them."

Several years from now, I'LL be living the life he's enjoying today because from this day forward, I'M gonna be out there giving my ALL. The only question is: where will YOU be in several years? Are you being productive RIGHT NOW? How about later tonight, will you be seen anywhere NEAR a gym? And tomorrow, will you work up a STORM at work, or just sit back there and pretend to be doing something?

IF SOMEONE ELSE IS LIVING THE LIFE OR YOUR DREAMS, YOU'VE GOT NO ONE BUT YOURSELF TO BLAME. STARTING NOW, DO YOUR BEST, GIVE YOUR ALL, EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY BECAUSE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, GODDAMMIT!

Damn, I got so much from this man, and only now am I starting to grasp his attitude. Right now, his forums kinda withered since, ironically, people behind it are working really hard for themselves. People seem to want to take the forum back to it's previous glory though; it's not a forum for everyone, though. aha.

That's the way to go, Xin. I feel that if i was to give an advice on taking action instead of being in this opium-like state of daydreaming of riches all day long, it would be almost the same as this guy you quoted wrote.
