Well, Steve, I like how diplomatically you put everything on that post. I agree with you, I love how this forum is and the atmosphere in here. It is unique, even among the PD world. Kudos to you for setting the leadership for the mods to follow.

| However, upon thinking of it, I don't understand why you advertised the World Affair forum. Are you trying to get traffic to it? Did Erin ask you to advertise it so more people would post on it? Does this mean you're going to start writing political posts too and draw more traffic to the forum? Last edited by seeker5; 01-25-2008 at 10:49 PM. |

I was wondering about that! Do you think part of your resistance to the new forum was that you couldn't trust yourself not to want to be heard about stuff you feel is important, and then helplessly find yourself with that {{{{feeling}}}} again, despite your best intentions? I don't like that {{{{feeling}}}, either. |

Sorry about that, Seeker5! I do feel compassion; it is an uncomfortable feeling to get sucked into it. You and I have that in common. And, I think that discomfort itself is an interesting avenue to self-awareness -- so why shouldn't Steve announce his newest forum, is my feeling. Why not talk about what he's doing on his own blog? Why shouldn't he write posts in there and draw traffic to it? (Maybe you don't think those things at all, and I'm just reading those *shouldn'ts* in to your "However, upon thinking of it.." post. If so, I'm sorry.) |

If I started writing political posts -- no intention of doing that presently -- they'd automatically create new threads in the Steve Pavlina forum, not the World Affairs forum. Now if you're wondering about my secret plot to run for President, that won't happen until I'm in my 50s. I just like to plan ahead.

For what it's worth, IMO the forum was a good idea. A general "Off Topic" forum probably wouldn't be a good fit for these forums, but I totally agree that if people will discuss it anyway they might as well have somewhere to do so where it doesn't bother everyone else...
