Default someone else's 30-day trial

By the way, I happened upon this link:

Superskunk me: What happened when one woman smoked dope daily for a month for a BBC documentary | the Daily Mail

A woman in the UK decided to do a 30-day trial smoking marijuana daily (she also had it injected into her body).

I'm not suggesting this for Steve, though! The woman in this story had an awful time with it. But I thought fans of the 30-day trial might find it interesting.

Default Try to turn someone's life around in 30 days.

Pick a homeless person or a delinquent teen. Someone who really needs your help. See how quickly you can turn a lost sole into an empowered one.

Default One of the most idiotic experiments ever!

Of course smoking that much every day is going to screw you up. Gimmie a break. What exactly is this supposed to prove? Pot is bad? You can drink too much orange juice every day and it will totally mess you up if you drink enough of it. Take any prescription drug too much too often and you'll be a lunatic. This is an overblown, biased, propaganda experiment with no control parameters other than shoving way too much thc in her body every day. They had no goal other than to prove it's bad. Why didn't they try just one puff a day? Well, maybe because that wouldn't have made her paranoid and upset. Why didn't they see what would happen if they bombarded her with positive affirmations while she was under the influence? You want to be paranoid? Drink 15 cups of coffee a day. Then, they try to link pot to a string of murders? Come on. The most people do when they smoke is make too many sandwhiches. LOL

Default Start a 30 day coaching company

Hire people out to live with people for 30 days (or at least meet with people every day for 30 days) and push them to fullfill 30 day challenges.

Good stuff here. I wonder if someone took any of these ideas to heart and did their own 30 day challenges?

Instead of doing a 30 day trial use a "New History Generator Paraliminal" and change your view on the past in just 30 minutes. If you don't have that paraliminal then just visualize your life from the birth going thru all of your memories and make them the way you want it to be.

I did it on veganism. I visualized that my parents were vegans (mostly raw) three years before I was born, then all people in my environment were vegan as well, or at least very supportive. After doing that I could recall that there were many real moments consistent with that. I've changed my focus and memories about the past 30 years, even thou I am 27 and been vegan for just over a year
This sounds like an amazing idea. I'm definitely going to do something like this.

Just imagine, all the painful experiences from childhood can be turned around and replaced with something positive that's worth looking back at.

Default Have daily power pondering time

Have you ever been so busy with school or work that you simply forget about what is important in life? Too often during school I am focused getting my assignments done that I forget to enjoy my life experiences. Only later do I realize the simple, yet wonderful experiences in my life—a fabulous ice cream sandwich, a late-night phone call with a friend, or how far I have come in my ability to befriend others. Too often, I appreciate the blessings in my life retrospectively rather than concurrently.

While living ‘in the moment’ every minute of the day is challenging, I recommend simply choosing a time when you have ponder about life every day. For me, I now take a 12 minute walk to the subway when I go to my internship every day. Rather than worry about what I will do at the internship or about other trivial details, I think about things that matter in my life: good friends, relationships with relatives, or the incredible experiences I have already had while living in Thailand this summer. Time set aside to ponder the bigger, more important issues of life has made a world of difference for me.

Simply choose a time, perhaps when you are traveling to work or school, or right before you go to bed, to think about the most important people and issues in your life. Try it for 30 days and you will begin to be more satisfaction with life. Sometimes we just need a time to realize how far we have come. Seeing our progress and current opportunities helps us make plans to keep in that direction.

Concerning diet, become a breatharian. Or at least try it for 30 days. Let's see if that way of life actually works. No food, no water, just sunshine and air. Just don't drop dead.

I am not a drug user and I find it for lazy people who don't take responsibility and who don't have a real purpose in life.

That said: this research proves absolutely NOTHING.

She mentions that she got huge cravings for junk food:

Quote:
"Cannabis triggers a chemical surge in the brain which stimulates the appetite, and in particular makes you crave sweet and salty snacks while you are stoned," says Nicky.

"I could easily get through a couple of packets of biscuits and a huge bag of crisps, and the result was I quickly gained weight.
And then she blames ONLY the cannabis.

Well; if I would go through a couple of packets of biscuits and a huge bag of crisps a day I would get extremely paranoid and foggy minded too.

Please, don't start using cannabis, but if you want to prove the damaging effects of it, please do it right.

I propose Steve conduct a 30-day trial of using Couchsurfing.com.

Actually it was on this forum that I originally learned about this beautiful community. If you're not familiar with it, it's a community of people who offer up their couch for travellers to sleep on (though many times you get a bed). You can host a traveller or surf on someone else's couch while travelling, and it's very safe because it's built on a karma system. Not only do you need to fill out a profile which explains what kind of person you are, but whenever you host or surf you write a reference for that person. So, the practical upshot of which is, when you're searching for a place to couchsurf you can read references that other people have left a person and see what kind of person they really are. This karma system works incredibly well.

Whether Steve primarily surfs at other people's places or hosts is completely up to him, but in my experience this community has exemplified Oneness more than any other community I've ever interacted with. And this system isn't limited to single-person travellers. May hosts actually prefer having a family visit for a few days... you'll really need to sign up and fill out a profile to really experience the magic of it.

As Steve says, you can't fully appreciate something looking from the outside in, you need to be on the inside to know the reality. Did I mention using the site is 100% free?

C'mon Steve, take this opportunity to change the world even more and try this!

p.s. there is a huge vegan/vegetarian community on CS too. at the very least, hosting is also an fantastic experience.
