Hi Steve, If you are feeling sluggish, it is probably because your cells have released a toxic load into your bloodstream and you are feeling the effects of it swishing round your system. You may want to consider an enema or colonic to clear out toxins. that always gets rid of the sluggish feeling for me. (I can't remember from your original post if you mentioned an opinion on these or not). Matt Monarch talkes about this being the 3rd pillar of success on raw. Also I would be really interested in how you deal with the social side. I find being raw easy when I am (un)cooking just for myself or making packed lunches. Dinner parties are difficult. I went to 2 this weekend (oh the perils of being popular! |

I feel great this morning, so this could be a third positive day in a row. Raw soup is eaten cold. A semi-popular example is gazpacho. Technically the main distinction between a raw soup and a smoothie is whether you drink it from a glass or a bowl. | |

Thank you for taking the time to share this fascinating experience with us Steve. Although I don't plan on going raw anytime soon, I do try to include as many raw and unprocessed foods in my diet as possible. I think it's scary the amount of nutrients that get wiped out in food by cooking and industrial processes. Especially with pre-cooked foods, all we are really getting is an overdose of sugar, fat, and bad proteins. I have a question: does eating raw automatically mean eating vegan? Are there some raw foodists that consume meat and fish in their diet? Just wondering. Hang in there Steve, you're already past the halfway mark! |

Yes there are people who eat raw meat and animal products. But I think that raw eating isn't for raw's sake. Eating raw has to do with optimum nutrition and eating the foods that we are meant to eat. One major argument against getting anything but incidental meat in your diet is that while fruits and leafy greens are visually appealing and pleasant on the palate. Raw meat in it's whole food form, a live animal, doesn't really register as food. I'm new to this whole thing so I'm just reciting what I've read. I encourage you to do your own research though, it's really interesting reading. |
