Please let me say right up front that I think you are doing a great job on this site... it is extremely popular and contains many valuable links to resources. I have just read a post on your blog on voice recognition software... and being a user of voice recognition software, not out of choice but out of necessity, I want to post a comment which I thought may benefit you and other readers... but your comments were closed.  I suppose I came to complain that making comments on blog posts was so many clicks away from the actual post... but I'm sure I just don't know all the advantages to this setup too. The reason for my complaint, if I were to give it, was simply that I like reading people's comments almost as part of the post itself. I can see why that would be undesirable though, too (so many comments would make for a huge page with huge loading time, comments detracting from the post itself, etc.) So I've revised my thoughts on this, and was just wondering: have you considered making the link at the bottom of each post point directly to the forum thread that is discussing it? I cringe as I suggest it, because that would probably be a tedious task, but ... it would be such a nice streamlining, wouldn't it?  |
