Default What do you do in your spare time, Steve?

Hi Steve,

Are you working on any really cool projects now? The reason I ask is that the blog posts per month in 2007 have been fewer than the blog posts in October through December of 2005, when you were experimenting with polyphasic sleep and intention manifestation.

I'm not complaining, I'm just curious.

According to the subjective reality perspective, I guess I should look within myself to see what reason there is for the less frequent postings on this site. I first found Steve's web site and started reading about personal development in December 2005, so it was a very exciting time for me reading about the million dollar experiment and all of Steve's other activities. Since then, I've found lots of other personal development resources to explore, so maybe the Steve-form of my consciousness is taking a well-deserved break.

This post sounds like it was made by the snarky people who argue about subjective reality, but I'm being serious here, not sarcastic.

What i know that could be one of the reasons or the main reason why he is writing less articles is that he is working on his book, which i expect to be really good.

Book: I'm currently writing a book, which should be done by the end of the year and published in late 2008. I'm still negotiating the details with the publisher -- being a blogger who puts out a lot of content complicates the contract quite a bit.

Speaking: On Sunday I gave a 90-minute presentation on blogging in Palm Springs.

Humor skills: I've been spending a lot of time working on my humor skills and studying comedy. I'm also competing in the Toastmasters humorous speech contest this year. I won my club contest and will be competing in the area contest in a few weeks.

Toastmasters/NSA: I'm currently in 2 different Toastmaster clubs as well as the Las Vegas National Speakers Association. I attend meetings regularly.

Disc golf: Played a round this morning with a friend. We usually play once a week. Today I won by 5 strokes.

Moving: Erin and I moved to a new house 3 months ago, which is probably the worst thing a person can do to his/her productivity.

Selling a house: We're fixing up our old house to sell. Just hand it painted and recarpeted. Next up is new blinds, then landscaping.

Martial arts: Still training in kempo, although I'm going to drop it next month. I expect to be doing a lot more travel next year, and I won't be able to attend local classes consistently. I also moved farther away from the studio, which makes attending every class take 20-30 minutes longer.

Media stuff: I do media interviews once every week or two. Yesterday I was quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle (print and online), and about a week ago I got a mention on the Chicago Tribune's web site.

Friends: Erin and I are planning to host a Halloween costume party this year.

The big thing this year has been the move to a new house and getting the old house ready to sell. Believe me I'd much rather be doing more blogging and podcasting than dealing with those details.

Good to hear about the book.

It is emphasizing any certain aspect of personal development?

Mostly living consciously, courageously, and intelligently.
