Re-understanding conciousness

Hi everybody, my name is John. Currently I am a 24 year old male from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Through close friends that have entered my life recently, and a few moments of syncronicity. I'm started to understand something I believe I once knew, and that is conciousness. As long as I can remember I have felt that I have been trying to remember something, but never sure what it was. I believe I am on the right path, and just wanted to introduce myself to the forum, and possibly ask for advice on how to move forward in my own understanding of everything around me. I realise that I am responsible for the direction I have taken, and the paths I have chosen. And I am trying to remove the negative from my life, just wondering if anyone has advice to help me achieve this goal.

Yes, we are here to realize who we are. However we have Kharma ( past actions) that we have to undue. This usually is not from a past life but just ingrained belief systems we fail to see because they are so (harmful/disturbing) that we pretend they do not exist. Everytime we focus on something, it expands for everyone. We you put your attention on is what you "love." Even if it's fear, conspiracy, murder or violence. You bring more of it into the world for everyone. The end of the world is the end of dual subjective reality and the realization that all is one and we are all not ego's, but the universe itself staring at each other. Very similar to the idea of the Being John Malcovich where he goes down his own portal on floor 8 1/2 or whatever and he sees everyone as himself. Great movie by the way and so many unconscious desires to see reality too. Hi John, welcome to the forums.

Don't try to remove the negative. Remove is a negative word, so it is impossible by definition. Instead, focus on something positive you WANT to do and DO it! When you hear the phrase "choose your reality," it means that you are making a choice every nano-second of your life. What are you choosing to do in this moment, and are you prepared to accept the consequences? I'm glad you think you're on the right path. Very few people are so lucky. When you come to a fork, (every instant is a fork!) just keep doing your best. That's really all you can do! There's nothing else to "re-understand," unless that's what you want. Compared to the people asleep on the side of the path, you should just be happy that you're awake and know where you are. My advice is to get off the computer and go live your life!

I second what frankderived said. Listen to Steve's podcasts, especially the True Nature of Reality and Overcoming Fear. A lot of people on this site live with the belief in the idea of one consciousness and that is what is reflected in Steve's writings and podcasts. Is that what you want to understand?

I miss my professors at the U of A so much...I miss Canada...how lucky you are to be living there...
