| Hello, all. I recently listened to Conversations With God - book 1 (audio format - double speed!) and it was... Mind expanding, to say the least. Just checking in here to see if anybody else has experienced the material and been positively (or negatively?) affected by the material and would like to share. |

| I read them all and they really helped to get me through a difficult time. There is a lot of very good information. I would say, however, the relationship Neale Walsh has with god is from his experiences and perspective and we all need to draw our own conclusion. Quote:

| I've read the books. Highly recommended. Lots of good ideas about God in them, lots of food for thought. Good books for exploring. Read the first one at least, see if you like it. Seems like most people who have read one have "read them all" though.....that should tell you something.

| It was excellent, I love every bit of it. As what some people say that when you hear an information that is presented to you, if it is true in your being then it will resonate in your heart. I feel that the information Neale presented resonated with me. |

| I've found it to be a good starting point. Maybe... Because some of things appeal on a deep gut/emotional level they cause the odd waterworks. *shrug* I'll go through it a few more times, take what I can and move ever onward. Thanks for all the responses. Blessings. |

| Presumably these books and tapes don't purport to be accounts of actual conversations with a supreme being?

| I don't believe there is a God. But if He does exist He doesn't give exclusive interviews.

If you go to any church and talk to the faithful congregation, it would be quite surprising if you didn't find anyone who has conversations with God. Another example of a rather long conversation is found in "A Course in Miracles" (ACIM) you can google & see. Various other people have also regularly talked to, well, not God himself, but other sorts of non-physical entities. Eg Esther Hicks, Jane Roberts, Jeffrey Wands etc. Oh yeah, lest we forget, Steve Pavlina's wife too. Last edited by Acting Like Godot : 08-19-2007 at 02:32 PM. |

| I believe each of us can have our own conversation with God. We just need to be willing to open our heart to listen to the voice of our SELF. The book has been very transformative for me personally durring a huge personal crisses and I am very thankful for it having been written. Whether it is absolutely GOD or not I do not think is really relevant, the question is, can it help you to find peace, hope and joy. Read the book, contemplate on it for a bit and see if it does not resonate as true. |

| I like CwG. It talks about many things including time and space, IM, Subjective Reality, LoA, difference between eastern and western teachings etc. I think CwG has a more religious perspective on these topics. But it is a fresh perspective nonetheless. I got many a-ha's by reading this series. I continue to refer to them. |

Praying is talking to god and meditation is god talking to you. some people just aren't still enough to hear god. god talks to us, all day in different experiences, devine appointments, in our thoughts, what other people say to us. how we experience our lives. the problem is mitote and doubt. we cannot hear. i am in personal contact with god all day long, in the way i experience, love, reach out, faithe for courage, . everytime i express gratitude. i am in contact and in a position to listen i am very grateful for my god experience and earth adventure. |

| brandi you know if you do something wrong, your "God" will cast you into hell without a second thought...thats hardly a good quality for a conversational partner... I have read a few examples and it seems like cheesy feel-good stuff. Not my cup of tea in every sense of the phrase. I know it helps people, gives them courage, abates their fears yadah yadah yadah...but... its not real. God isn't there to help you. God isn't their to pick you up when your down. You pick yourself up, no one else. Some people do it through logic, truth and reasoning, others do it by deluding themselves of the existence of a higher being....I prefer the former, but each to their own. *sighs* my head hurts will all this mental activity...bah....

| it's all about our own personal understanding and relationship with god. I believe my god's grace is sufficient. if my god is so great... i cannot be a bigger sinner than he is a savior. do i do bad stuff? you bet i cuss and smoke and drink every couple of months. i believe god's grace is sufficient. this is my god experience. and it is a good one. i am exactly where he needs me to be to be a grander finished product. I refer to myself a believer and not a "christian" i do not wish to confuse you with fancy titles... i'm an emphatic believer, I'm just not done being an ******* ; ) God's grace is sufficient. that's what i'm told anyway I'll buy it. i am so happy... what do i have to lose? | The Librarian and I seem to be on the same wavelength when it comes to the exsitance of God. I doubt very much that there is any such thing. But even if you subscribe to the notion, people claiming to talk to him seems a bit suspicious. We get most things that are popular in the States over here in the UK sooner or later. I will keep an eye out for these books. I would say though that they might want to change the name for the English market. There was a notorious serial killer over here who claimed to talk to God - he used this fact in his defence in court. It was the first thing that sprung to my mind when I saw this thread.

| Neale Donald Walsh books are indeed thought provoking and especially where they trigger new kinds of conversations inside you. |
