I am still learning all the time but wanted to know what your thoughts are on how we see things on our own journey. So many people seem to think they know it all, have all the answers and all the answers are right for everyone else. But I am finding that not everything another will tell me seems to be the way it is for me. SO this makes me wonder, is spiritual experiences and the way we each as individuals experience things, only matter to us? Gee I am not expressing this so well, lol, its such a hard thing to say without making this post soooooo long. I guess what I am trying to say is - Do you have answers because - A. You think you know everything (born knowing it all, ruinning into this kind all the time latley) B. You read and gather information C. Have many experiences (therefore they are your own experinces so cant be right for everyone else) D. Or just try to give what you have known right for yourself? I ask this because latley I am running into people who seem to think there way of knowing things is the only way there is. But I feel we all can be right about things because its all about experiencing things "individually. Does that make sense. I just think its unfair that if I have an experience with a spirit or guide or what ever it is, they will say "NO" this is usually how it is. Like they were born knowing everything there is too know. It's easy to pick out the know it alls, but I feel everyone on this earth should get a say and should not be corrected because it doesn't go with what another may think. I feel we are all here to expereince everything that happens in our life and we are all knowledable in so many ways and therefore have so much to learn and teach each other. Ok ramberling done. I just feel its not fair that one can say my experience is wrong! Hope I made some sense to you, lol! Love and Light, (My first post) Wayne. Last edited by Wayneworld; 06-09-2007 at 12:09 AM. |

I also think we're all here to learn and grow and we each have something to offer each other.

Hello and welcome aboard Wayneworld... That is quite a profound subject for your first topic... but also a very good one... I do believe that we all have our own reality... each of us see the world and everything in it in his or her own individual way... so, saying that someone else is wrong... is just plain wrong... and shows a lack of understanding of how our the mind works... PS... I hope you will like it here and that we get to see a lot of you... . |

Welcome to the best place online to find out exactly what the *bleep* is going on Basically (I believe) we will never know exactly how it all works, that's not the point, the point is the journey, not the destination. Imagine if you knew exactly how it all worked, BAM! You'd be at the destinantion and would have missed most if not al the good parts of the journey. The best thing to do is find something that gels with you, that feels right and live with that, you can try all sorts of things, I tried many different things until I stumbled upon something that felt so empowering that I adopted it, but I've found I've tweaked it to make it more suitable to me. If you haven't found something that feels right, don't worry, you'll ge there, remember it's the journey that matters. No one can tell you who you are, only you can do that

| I used to meditate, but now I just observe momentry awareness. It's a really good way to see the container that consciousness is with you (physical you) inside it. So many of the illusional problems just slip away.

Spiritual experiences are highly personal. The stories we use to describe them allow us to compare and contrast (and influence), but ultimately each person's spiritual experiences are their own. This leads to a kind of belief, which, when combined with strong intuition, create a feeling of certainty. I think those who deny the beliefs of others have taken that feeling of certainty too far, and have failed to understand its highly subjective nature. If someone says your experience is "wrong" they don't understand the nature of experience. There is no such thing as a "wrong" experience. However, one's interpretation of one's experience can be inaccurate and unhelpful. Intuition and strong emotion, combined with limited knowledge, cause us to strongly believe in certain ideas. We may often reject challenging ideas simply because they represent a challenge to our beliefs. We don't consider that they may help us improve our own understanding. We also use metaphors to help us grasp vague or ambiguous concepts, but sometimes we don't let go of the metaphor when we reach greater understanding, then taint further understanding by continuing to use the old metaphor where it's no longer appropriate. I think challenges are incredibly useful, because if I'm unable to stand up to the challenge, and unable to identify how the challenge does not overrule my belief, then it makes it clear I have to re-evaluate my belief. In other words if I feel that I have to justify my belief and I can't, then my belief isn't strong enough and must either accept that and deal with how that impacts my life, or I must take a good hard look at my belief and find out how it doesn't align with reality. |
