Default Consciousness vs Physical brain

Some people have mentioned their higher self/consciousness/true self.

I just don't get it. What's the difference between "that" and all the emotions, thoughts and memories caused by our physical brain.

You mean my sexual urges, joy, thoughts are not me? Can we not have sexual urges with a normal physical brain.

An important but fun thought

Well Dophins supposedly have sex for fun! Which implies consciousness. However does this mean consciousness is in the brain? Not really, in my opinion "Consciousness" is an attribute of the soul

Physical brains don't have emotions, thoughts and memories, your consciousness makes those things.

All your feelings, all your thoughts, all your emotions are consciousness/awareness having/experincing them, you just think you are having them in this persistant physical reality.

Important and fun To think you are so powerful that you can have all these thoughts and then to ask where the heck they come from! Everything you create (thoughts/emotions/pain/suffering) comes from your true self (consciousness) and you create that/make that real in your physical reality.

"I" = the essential you. I don't have a precise definition - it's just what you are, when everything else has been taken away. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say it is you as pure soul, originating from God (a very big, pure soul).

Consciousness = State of awareness; what "I" has and uses to perceive and create.

Mind = The container you carry arround which holds all your thoughts, memories, ideas and beliefs.

Emotion = A reaction expressed through your senses, causing you to 'feel' something.

Your consciousness is currenty attached to your body, to a greater or lesser extent. Your body also has animal consciousness which takes care of the body's instinctive urges for survival - eating, fighting, sex, etc.

If you are too fixated on your body, your consciousness can identify with an aspect of the animal consciousness. When this is coupled with your imagination, then one can really get hung up on things like sex, physical survival, etc.
