Question how do i ground myself?

Hi i was wondering if any one can give me any advice on how to ground my self more and start living in the now!

i have tried various visualisations during mediatation and have used grounding crystals but still no luck!

I always feel as if i'm in my head and think too much...i could think about making plans but i never seem to put them in action. I am not a practical person although i wish i was so i can start dealing with normal mundane thing instead of putting them off...you should see my room sometimes i end up having lots of clutter!..i know its a sign..showing me that i need more balance in my life but i need to know how to do that?

Also doing a chakra test it showed that my root, sacral and naval chakra's are underactive...which suggests that i am fearful and nervous, not open to people and passive and indecisive. Which is true about my life right now!

please help!!

Hmm.

Simple grounding things are of the body... Excercise! Walk! Dance! Keep your mind focused on those movements and your body all the while.

If you are in a relationship, physical activities are also... Implied.

(I've also done more mediative-type work, but physical... "Grounds"... Like no other. )

There's a lot of things you can do - focus on physical activities are definitely helpful. Spending some time with our planet can also help - get outside and be with nature for a while.

My favorite way of grounding is definitely my yoga practice - it brings me back "down to Earth" when I've been doing readings all day.

If your mind won't stop churning, try reciting the Usnisa Vijaya Dharani - you can google to find it, or I have it on my blog at Living Intuition » Blog Archive » More on Karma. It's a great clearing practice.

If you simply have too much energy running through your upper chakras, you can also try taking a bath with some sea salt in it - that's a very balancing practice.

Hope these help!
Blessings,
Andrea

I'd say two things.

Learn that, as far as experiencing what is ......there is no such thing as the 'past' and the 'future'.
If you stop and think about it, the only place you can be is in the now !

Second. If you can, go out to nature, or if you have a balcony with a view of trees, etc.

And just sit there and watch nature.
I mean really, just sit there and watch.

If you make this a habit, your mind will catch on.

Look at the things in your life that you identify with..

The name glitterkitty strikes me as a name not particularly well grounded.
Words are powerfull.

A spell for you:
Get a small piece of paper...write "grounded" on it, and eat it. Consume it.

Then change your name from glitterkitty, to something less fluffy, you'll feel more grounded straight away. Something like "Suncat"...you get the picture.
You match the picture to your mind..visualize your words as reality, then choose them very very carefully.

Notice the emotions that are triggered by these words:
Hate
Death
Betrayal
Deciet

Now notice the emotions triggered by these words:
Love
Life
Honor
Truth

Bit of word magic for you...test it if you want..
These ones fly off into the sky.

Glitter
Kitty

Maybe you could use similar themes: of youthfull curiousness, to form a new name..

Wonder
Child

You get the picture from the words..you put it in your head. It becomes real to you.

...Learn.

Default Grounding cord

Do you know about grounding cords?Running Energy Practice

Skip down to the "grounding cord" section. Just visualizing what is described in that section will probably help a lot. A word of caution--I once thought it would be a good idea to clip my grounding cord to the center of the earth. This was a mistake--my body freaked out! Allow the cord(s) to sink to a depth feels comfortable and don't clip them anywhere.

Take care,
Alchemiss

I think 'glitterkitty' is a great name! I laughed when I first read it and it made me feel more grounded!
Another way to get grounded is to do some therapeutic, manual work, like gardening, or even housework (yuk!).

Hi maso u think that glitterkitty is not a grounded name well let me tell u thats not my real name!!

I see your point and what your trying to get across but c'mon its just a bit of fun! I came up with that name because i like to use glittery make up and i just luv cats!..simple i'd thought i'd mix the two..theres nothing wrong with being alittle creative is there!

Alchhemiss thanks for the info link about grounding cords..its quite similar to the grounding techniques i have in one of my chakra books. But this is abit more indepth.

Cantando i have plenty of housework to do...which is never ending!! and gardening..well erm..i dont quite fancy doing that when its raining all the time in england..we just dont get sunshine here!!
