Religion

I love most of what Steve says on his site, but he is pretty much clueless when it comes to Religion. That is ridiculous to believe that being a Christian means that you have to believe the earth is only 10,000 years old. All you have to believe is that Jesus is son of God. You also say that Jesus is some fictional character from some pre-myth story but you don't back it up. What story?

This guy is a good writer and he just babbles on with this article making stuff up as he goes along. It is also funny how you support Law of Attraction. Guess what dude, the law of attraction is the belief in God. This this part man you need to get a clue.

As a Christian you should believe the entire Bible. So you have to believe all animals were created instantaneously in their current state sans evolution. You can't just cherry pick parts you like and discard the rest. How do you know that "all you have to believe is that Jesus is the son of God?" Did you just make that up yourself?

Jesus probably never existed. There is no evidence that he existed independent of Biblical accounts. The historian Josephus who was alive in Jesus's day never wrote about him. The Talmud has one reference to someone who may have been him, stating "Yesterday, Yeshua was hanged." But Jesus was crucified, not hanged. There is not so much as a letter to Uncle Himey stating that there is a man in Jerusalem performing miracles. You think if someone was raising the dead, there would be more news about him. Egytians also never mentioned him, although they had a sophisticated writing system.

To top if off, Jesus's story is very similar to other stories which are largely considered myths. Horus was born of the virgin Isis. Krishna was born of a virgin. Mithras was born on December 25.

The law of attraction has nothing to do with the belief of God. (Some people attach God bladabloopyleedoo to it though, in my experience its the exception not the norm.)

Welcome to the forum , I think if you are a Christan , you must believe Jesus was who he said he was . As to the earth at only 10,000 years some Christans believe that others dont. If you see God as a grey haired old man , then I dont think he has anything to do with l.o.a. If you see God as the creative source of the cosmos and ever thing is God , then you could say l.o.a. /creative visualzation is part of God. desert rat

You haven't caught on yet to one thing. Steve sometimes quite deliberately writes highly provocative things just to rattle peoples' cages. Looks like yours has been rattled pretty effectively!

Didn't Jesus command you to love?

Oh, that only applies to people who agree with you. Didn't you know? "Love your neighbor as you love yourself, provided they think and act and make the same choices as you. Otherwise, call them names and maybe persecute them if you feel like it. Oh, and feel free to throw stones."

How exactly is the law of attraction belief in God?

I wouldn't presume to answer for the OP, but generally it works something like this. You already believe in God in some context, so if you adopt a belief in the Law of Attraction in some context, you just weave it in to your existing belief set.
