Do you think everyone be enlightened in 2012?

I heard that more and more people are becoming awakened due to massive shifts of energies , will it grow as a global awakening?

"Enlightenment," and "Awakening" have technical definitions, if you are asking whether people will be mass-enlightened or mass-awakened in that sense, the answer is no. We have our own free will and choose whether to become awakened or enlightened or not.

There will be massive shifts, but even those will only be witnessed by those watching closely for them. Most people do not understand the larger world around them and so they won't see any such thing.

I don't think that or any other date as a particular change over point.

I think the more we grow, the faster we evolve in all ways, including spirituality.

I believe the massive shifts in energy come from our inner selves/worlds and as such, it is from within the shifts will be most noticeable.

It's largely subconscious. David Hawkins uses the term "karmic option," (it took me awhile to realize what he was getting at) which is a fancy way of saying the same thing. A decision you make subconsciously.

The sum total of our consciousness is only partially wielded by our waking awareness. Most of our decisions, most of the ones that really matter anyway, are made by our subconscious minds. We can influence the process with our waking awareness, but not completely control it, not yet anyway.

I've heard this before, even argued it, but I don't agree with it any more. Inner conflict can be devilishly subtle, and even a little bit of it will keep you from enjoying the fruits of enlightenment fully. While the difference can be boiled down to a simple realization, in practice it's largely impossible to make that jump at a moment's notice. Much work needs to be done to earn the self-mastery required to make that realization.

Yes, I totally agree with this. Bringing the subconscious to conscious and changing it is very difficult, but entirely possible. I don't know about the whole lot or even if that's necessary, but when we are concerned with the one's that hurt us.

Things will shift for some people, but it's not going to just happen overnight;, these things take time. Plus if you're not ready for something (Ascension) or don't want it, it's not going to be forced upon you.

I take the word 'enlightened' to mean more of taking an active roll in your spiritual endeavors. But as far as the concept, I think we're all connected, intuitive, whatever you want to call it.

I believe we all have the same abilities, just some go further with it than others.

To me it's like singing, we all have the ability to sing, but we do it to different levels. Some of born more naturally gifted for it, while others work at it to get better.

Although I don't normally go for ideas like this, I do feel there is an awakening or "shift that has begun already. However time is arbitrary and it just happens to be happening now because it's 2012 (or will be soon.)

I've heard this before too and I used to argue against it but now I see how very true it is. There is no volitional person inside our person to do any choosing, subconscious or otherwise. As such there is no one to be enlightened, all we are is a sum total of whatever falls into our awareness, part of which is thoughts, so the only thing stopping you from being enlightened is the thought that you aren't already. That being said it does have to be realized for real, just saying you are there doesn't make it so.
