I originally wrote a miniature novel on all the peripheral stuff that I think is a part of my issue. I wrote it because I needed to read it. No one else needed to read that. I've started a new thread where I've centered in on my real issue... "The feelings of right and wrong"

So let me get this straight. You dont believe in Jesus but a God who does the same things as him?

Hi Trover,

Well, it sounds like you've been on a pretty intense search. For some reason, maybe upbringing, maybe friends, you were attracted to the bible and the Judeo-Christian stories of God.

I certainly won't question your experiences and choices, your yearning and sincerity comes shining through. Have you opened yourself to any other teachings? Like Hinduism, Taoism or Zen Buddhism? The beauty and gentle acceptance inherent in much of those texts and dialogues might help blunt some of the edges.

Why not let go--for the moment at least--of names like YHWH and the others? After all what can be named - can't be the Ultimate - can it? I think not. Whatever that is doesn't care what you call it. Give up the names and the anxieties too might start to fade.

Pain of that magnitude is grueling to say the least. It's the greatest motivator of change that I am aware of and we begin to search in desperation to relieve the pain. My heart goes out to you.

Trover,

Wow, that’s a lot of stuff you were carrying. Hopefully venting will allow you to unload some of it. I clearly see a lot of wanting that has not come to pass and a lot of pain of disappointment.

Now that you have bravely allowed your issues to be seen, perhaps you will have the opportunity to see them in a clearer way. If at some point you wish to address some of the remaining issues, start other non-venting thread(s) for that purpose.

Feelings of right and wrong are simply a condition of the human mind (likes and dislikes), each mind is different so feelings are different, the minds filter ego and the illusions it creates causes these differences unlike Truth which is not relative i.e. the Truth for me is the same as the Truth for you is the same for all, otherwise it is not Truth.

Hey Trover,

Everyone is making reference it seems, to something quite long and detailed that you've written called it appears 'The feelings of right and wrong'. However I can't seem to find it anywhere and don't know where to commence my search.

Please, please help a poor Reject!

Sorry, but I deleted it. It was like opening up my diary. I needed it, no one else did. For now, we'll just take one point at a time... point number one, "why choose to stand in the fire when you could walk out?"

Have you considered that perhaps you aren't choosing to, nor is the fire even actually fire to which you have given the pain a reality? Fire being metaphorical obviously as I assume you are using it as well.

Because our Self extends past our physical self, and there are sometimes greater needs than to preserve our physical integrity. Like when saving your child, for example, as I mentioned in the other thread.

Of course, the same point applies to the metaphorical version of the question....metaphorically...

Well sometimes we evolve to a greater extent in selecting to face the fire of the consequences of our actions rather than avoid them by deceit or blamimg another.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain"; misconstrued on this side.
