Changing 'reality' in a dream when you don't know you're dreaming
I've noticed that during a dream sometimes I intentionally change previous events, the way I do sometimes if I'm just fantasizing or daydreaming. Let's say you're having an enjoyable fantasy about having someone over for dinner, and you imagine pouring some red wine, but then you remember this person likes white wine, so you rewind the daydream and pour white wine instead. I find myself doing stuff like this in dreams . . . yet it seems like I don't realize I'm dreaming. It feels like "real life." It's not lucid -- yet on some level I must know I'm dreaming. It's kind of a like a virtual reality daydream.
I mentioned in another thread awhile back about making intentional changes in dreams that don't involve this sort of 'rewinding.' Again, not realizing I'm in a dream, but it would be like looking at my black desk lamp and wanting it to be blue instead, then throwing all my intention behind this desire and opening my eyes to see the lamp is blue. Yet -- in "real life," I don't have the sense that I can throw all my intention at my desk lamp and turn it blue.
